Could be worse. It could be an Urbie. Oh wait, Crap I got one of those! Posted Image

Edit: I was upset with the "Loyalty" rewards last year enough that I expressed my displeasure (bltched) and cancelled my pending pre-orders. This year, I knew what to expect so I am not upset at all. Well, except I was hoping that the MC reward would not be another IS Mech.

Touche PGI, not only did you give me another IS Mech for my Clan account but you made it an Urbie. LOL, you got me good!

they are generously trying to help you see the error of your Vatbrat ways and bless you with Urbielightenment. Why do you fight so hard about elevating your inner being with this gracious gift?

You've never gotten the "best" variant as Hero. The "Special" has always been the TRO standard model. Good, bad or ugly, it's the one that is supposed to be the most common. So anytime you got the "best" as the Collectors it is jsut as much a fluke as when you get the worst.

Didn't know there was a rationale for deciding which mechs gets the special variant... that said though, one should not confuse heroes with special mechs in terms of PTW because special versions of standard mechs are fully available for free, just not with the cbills bonus... so making good variants available as collectors edition can never be ptw.

My point is, in situations like with the WHM-6R I would gladly pay $20 to get a cbills bonus WHM-6R. It's a variant that has several viable build options so I would happily own 3 or 4 of them. Huge selling opportunity missed I feel. Had collectors editions worked more like a "hero" token you could buy for your favorite mechs it would have been a completely different story. At least they could set up a decent variant for special versions IMHO.

why not, IDK... check your eligibility? We can all do that right from the bloody announcement page.

And my point was, if you open the TRO 3025... the 6R is the standard model. The MAD-3R is also. THAT is the version the Collectors is and has been based on in virtually, if not every case. Off the top of my head the only exception originally was the Zeus and I pointed it out to Russ, and he changed it.

Considering the "best" version often shifts whenever the Meta does, it's not a very good way to make a decision, especially since PGI is usually 6 months behind on the meta.

The smart solution is the one I have been pushing for 3 yrs. A Token. Like when one got to select Skins for the Resistance and Wave packs. You buy a Collectors pack, you get a token sent at the time of purchase. You can then decide which Non-Hero variant you think is the one you will play most, and permanently drop the token on that one. Since Non Heroes aren't (or at least weren't) getting special Geo since Resistance 2, at least, it's not even a problem because the physical model getting the skin is identical, regardless.

Has a mech come up yet where the mech has two 'Base' versions, the Succession Wars model and the original Star League version? Which takes precedence?

You had to purchase exactly ZERO Collector's Packs or assault-tier Tiered Multiple Mech Collections this year if you didn't want to. You could have qualified for all IS and Clan rewards by purchasing 12 hero mechs from the appropriate hero collections.

Geeze, people...you whined last year about having to buy Collector's Packs. PGI listened for this year and added the hero options, but people are still bitchin' about Collector's Packs and 'muh dullarz.'

First TRO appearance.

So for instance you have the Warhammer.

In TRO3025 you have the 6R.
In TRO 3050 you get the 7M
In TROProPho you get the whichever hideous 8 series.

And somewhere they go back and retconned the SLDF era Rb version.

The 6R was the first TRO appearance.

Or for possible Murkier stuff... you have the Thug, or Highlander, etc.

On those, you have the TRO 3025 Succession Wars and TRO 3039 "downgrades" and the TRO 2750 originals.

Those mechs debuted in TRO 2750.

Always look to which TRO the Mech originally debuted in. The exception to that rule appears to be the MW4 machines, which seem to be deferring to their MW4 base loadouts rather than the crappy TRO versions, at least in the case of the Uziel... which still makes sense as those are the "best known" versions.

This is exactly what happened last year and you people are surprised? Like, really? Are you the kind of person that sticks their hand in a fire, burns themselves, and then does it again expecting a different result?

What's a Uziel? Whatever it is, it gives me a nosebleed and headache whenever I read that name...

yes, they obviously are.

And likely, when their parent's asked told them if they did a specific task they'd get taken to ice cream... they would do a totally different task and still expect ice cream. And judging by the level of entitlement, had new age neo hippie parents who coddled them and gave them that ice cream, because it's more important to be their friend, than a parent.

It's a theory anyhow, that would at least kind of explain the entitled whining. *shrugs*

What's AN Uziel? Well it's the given name of the guy who invented the Uzi?

Did you buy the Linebacker before 10:01AM? This is the sort of question Company Support systems were made for.

I would simply contact Support with your Linebacker purchase and say "what's up". Honestly anytime on the 18th should qualify, if they pick and choose "10am start of business" that is kind of silly.

Got the bushwacker early adopter, cheated out of reward. Yet the bushwacker is mentioned as one of the items you need to get the reward.

I'm in sort of the same boat with my Huntsman mechpack (18 Oct purchase date, unknown timestamp). I think they have a timestamp cutoff and not just a daily cutoff so that the same purchase wouldn't count toward two years worth of rewards. Of course if the preorders page had a timestamp on it telling us when that day we made our purchases, we wouldn't have this confusion.

Bushwhacker early adopters counted towards last year's reward program. You aren't cheated, you just didn't have to wait an entire year to get rewarded.

and what is the date on your early adopter receipt? Bushwackers was 10 months ago for release, IIRC as such Early adopter would be... about 13 months ago. So IF you bought it before their cut off, then no, you were't "cheated" out of anything. If it was after, then contact Support.

For instance... my Bushwacker receipt says: SEP 17, 2016: BUSHWACKER - STANDARD PACK
MECHS: - 3 mechs total ...if I early adopted it on Sep 17...then it's early adopter window ended BEFORE Oct 18, and as such, would not qualify for this year, but as Argent mentioned, certainly counted toward LAST years rewards. Sorry, no double dipping.
