all the Problems from MWO not the Engine

these games are way too different to say the engien isn't at fault, the engine still cnanot handle some things MWO needs.

I'd throw some money at PGI when MWO is ported to e.g. UE4, but not before playing a few matches on the linux client.

Native linux support would be another advantage of UE4.

If Alex and the other art folks had a kickstarter for a dedicated mechporn channel I might support that, but any potential customer giving PGI money in advance for ANYTHING other than for pure mechporn appreciation would frankly be foolish. There is simply too much easily obtainable and reviewable historical baggage out there, such that if one did give them money in advance based on a mere future "promise" that one is doing nothing more than throwing money into a black hole of disappointment.

OP may as well be suggesting we support a kickstarter for PGI to balance the game, for them to have consistent messaging, for them to be honest and forthright with us, to have vision, to actually do what they say, or to provide unicorns that fart rainbows and crap lollipops. None of those things have ever happened, nor will they, but we should throw money at them for the possibility? I think not. If we supported a a kickstarter to port the game over to another engine, PGI would likely make all sorts of grandiose promises and then decide that whatever PONG was run on is the way to go. If they had a kickstarter based on the idea of providing wallpapers of really sweet looking mechs though, why not support it, as mech aesthetics is something they have proven they know how to get right.

There are lot's of great games programmed in CE3, and for starters most of them look better than MWO.

PGI can't blame the engine for all that much, and I wouldn't back a kickstarter from PGI for any project ever.

You only get one shot at showing you can handle crowdfunding well and deliver the project to the stisfaction of the backers. I like MWO but it didn't fulfill the pitch that the backers funded to any reasonable degree, and so it can't be seen as an acceptable example of crowdfunding.

I wish PGI all the luck in the world with MWO, MW5 and everything else, but I'm sorry to say they don't deserve the trust necessary for crowdfunding or early access type business model, that bridge is burned which Transverse showed very clearly.

PGI should accept this and only use their own money or parter with investors and never again ask for customer money until they release finished products.

I really hope they aren't planning to ask the MWO player base for early access/crowdfunding money for MW5 or MWO engine prot, because it won't work. Those projects are going to have to be funded the old fashioned way.

IF MW5 is a huge success and a great game and MWO is updated to fulfill the original promises, then maybe after that PGI can successfully ask for crowdfunding money again, maybe.

I would pay $20 to make the skill tree go away. Other than that i would be extremely sceptical of anything PGI do.

They refunded all the money from their failed Kickstarter, so why all the hate against PGI? Their earlier project wasn't popular enough and they pulled the plug and REFUNDED all the money.

The engine is just one of many problems in MWO. So changing the engine alone doesn’t help much.

Considering how much they've still failed to deliver on from the original kickstarter... No.

Once mw5 gets released, most of the player population will move onto that game and then there would be no point to upgrade an obsolete mmo. The best we can hope for is multiplayer for mw5 or a successor to mwo built on mw5's engine

Only the people interested in single player gaming will move to MW5, personally I lose interest real fast when playing against stupid AI (And I have never seen a game with smart AI) and there a lot of people who feel the same way.

Yeah.. no.
So done with crowdfunding, paying for early/beta access etc.

Let's just keep it simple..
If I invest capital in a business venture, I want a capital return and if I out right pay for something, I want a finished product.

Every few weeks I've loaded the game updates, but I haven't been interested enough to actually log in and play in months. The idea of spending more money on this game is 100% ludicrous.

EDIT: After posting this I decided to play a few games tonight. Well, new game mode, new mechs, all that "new" stuff, and the game is still decided by whoever deathballs the best. Lowest common denominator is still lowest common denominator. If the devs parents die and they have to move out of the basement to find food, maybe they'll grow up enough that MW5 will be worth a ****. I'm not holding my breath.

I would love an upgrade to UE4.

Would I pay for it? NO.
Why should I pay money to someone for fixing their own mistake?
