So,

the WHK-C got the shaft because some players might have had some success with it in FP.
The Supernova nerf was again just completely random.

I am just wondering now what will happen to a lot of mechs once Solaris is implemented. I have been watching alot of 1vs1 matches lately and the effective builds are mostly cool running burst damage builds or the 6 AC/UAC Anni.

Legging also seems to make a comback from MW3. Players who bring QP builds usually get shredded in no time.

So PGI will be challenged with balancing yet another gamemode. They will see the effective Solaris builds an nerf them, Rendering them ineffective for QP and /or FP.

Bringing a short range brawler to QP is risky, in Solaris its probably the way to go.

I expect LBX/AC20 and SRMs beeing linked with Ghost Heat. Same for SNPPC. The Orion IIC, the Bushwacker, the Anni and a coupl of others will probably be nerfed aswell.

Nothing to do with S7... just noobs tears and wagons of salt bring the tide of nerfs. For exsample... still didn't understand why Warhawk is nerfed, it's a "loosermech" any way.

Warhawk-C had it coming. Our unit spammed the variant in certain CW maps to devastating effect, and even in QP, it was pulling over 1K damage. It is actually a "winner" mech.

"Get ready for a huge round of nerfs once solaris is implemented"

So in a year or more they are going to do another balance pass? Well I am shocked.

I got news for ya, this is PGI. Mech packs are released every month (give or take). And though Mr. Lowery's first "major balance pass" was not the horrific gutting of most mechs and weapons that many of us feared (quite the opposite) it is nonetheless but one single balance pass, and it will be followed by at least a few more before Solaris is even a PTS in this game (prove me wrong PGI, I dare ya). Point being worrying about a Solaris balance pass is pointless. Be worried first about about the Arctic Wolf balance pass, or the Thanatos balance pass, or the "hey, we played darts again and you guys are not going to believe what we think is over performing this month!" balance pass (old habits die hard).

WARHAWK
-theSupernova nerf.

Tbh, Warhawk at most is capable, but it's not game breaking

Another thing, I remember asking a supernova player what he felt his weakness was, and he felt its clumsy driving. So pgi s just made its most weakness even more glaring.

I'm not sure your train of thought is the best, but yes, it does seem likely that Solaris is going to create a situation where certain weapons over perform, and something weirds gonna to be done about it.

You actually believe they are going to follow through with implementing Solaris? What little belief I had is gone now.

Holy crap, I've been saying this for months...

To implement Solaris, PGI is compelled to degrade weapons performance ! WHY? Because, ig they didn't Solaris would last 12 seconds a match and no one would stand for that......

PGI wants 10 or 15 minute duels that are "danger close" and personal. That will take a lost of blasting to get into a position of defeating the enemy and to be successful, that needs a lot of time to accomplish. Imagine a Hvy Snub nose Gauss that can head shot on the opening engagement? What 6 seonds....... That's why PGI has been reducing the "precision" necessary to do just that....

Lengthen the engagments; nerf everything down in range and lethality....

That's what seems to be happening..... Just my opinion.

Legging, well, my motto is 'legs don't shoot back'. If someone is legging you, shoot their weapons off or shoot the CT and add leg armor.

Nerfs? Most mechs lost their best Quirks with the new Skill Tree, which really doesn't fix the old inherent problems with the mechs. Black Jack jumps out, still okay, but not what you want for making CBills anymore.

I just expect nerfs now. Mostly any meta, so MGs are next probably.

In smaller engagements, one shot weapons like Rocket Launchers have higher value since there's less enemies to worry about.

The salt would know no bounds.

Of course a mode that is meant for competitive 1v1 would require things to be balanced with the overperforming being nerfed. What is surprising there?

they will need to ban coolant in solaris too

otherwise I can just build a mech that kills any other mech in two or three alphas using coolant

wow so much fun. match lasts 20 seconds.

And this will lead to lots of cases where a build or mech is OP in Solaris but not in QP. The nerf then carries over to the other game modes although it was never OP there.

Solaris would probably have special rules, like "No consumables", "No Override", and others. Really depends on how they go about setting it up.

makes it look like their doing something other than waiting for mech packs.
