The cooldowns are longer than they ever have been. Long than pre-skill tree.
That is a huge, huge nerf.
The damage is still a problem in that, lights get decimated 15-20% far too easily... But then, no nerf is ever really right the first time. Move the bar a little and then try again in 4 months when it's still not working.

It is probably a lot easier to just edit some files. And if this turns out well enough, then why bother.
The imho best idea to limit airstrikes that I've read here some time ago, was to block the auxiliary tree as a whole for all Mechs but lights. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea.

I really dont get the "strikes are OP" complaints. I regularly drop strikes on IS units in FP, their assaults usually have no problem simply walking out of the smoke area and i have seen them push through the explosions without caring.
The only time i've seen strikes be super effective is when you are dropping them on a bunch of assaults that simply stand in the red smoke area and not move.

Turrets are an endangered species in MWO. We make sure to balance by them so they are preserved. The derogatory term "potato" is used as slang, as poaching turrets is affectionately nicknamed "farming."
