Seriously, If you are going to force everyone to use some trivial new feature, make sure it works instead of half-assing it. I've tried everything people have suggested in this thread and everything else I can think of to get the client show the event details. Get the info posted on the website.

- Event has been designed to actively shut out New Players -- They don't have the (C-Bills) to just go out and get all of those weapons in enough quantity!!!
- Event has been restricted to Quick Play only, and rather unnecessarily -- Faction Warfare should have been allowed to count towards the challenges, period.
- Event has been split into two separate pages -- Again rather unnecessarily, as the whole roster could have been contained on one page.
- Event has no matching WebSite Page -- Instant Turn-Off to anyone who can't launch the Game Client right now!!!
- Damage dealing requirements are too high on ALL parts -- Larger-sized weaponry with closer range requirements and higher tonnage requirements puts pilots into situations where they won't last long enough to do reasonable amounts of damage in each round toward what PGI's Event Challenges currently require!!!
- Given the Allowed Time for the Event of only 7 Days, the Combined Required Damage Total of upwards of 40000 or more is beyond way too damned high -- Whoever wrote out these requirements was using some serious drugs or something, as they seem to be on one hell of a mental trip.
- The style of play that this Event requests is akin to turning MWO into a game that it's NOT -- You don't try to make "Halo"/"TitanFall"/"Destiny"/"Counter-Strike"/"Call Of Duty"/"Cowboys & Indians" (or whatever you would refer to it as) out of a Teamwork-requiring game like MWO! MWO is NOT a "One Man Army" type of game!
- MWO's Community currently has too many players who are "Play Meta Or Die"-type of Toxic towards others -- This also makes the Event unfeasible to run, as those people are going to make the chances of completing any parts of this Event rather near impossible.
- Event is incompatible with people who can't properly track shots ahead due to computer issues, natural play style incompatibility, or various forms of brain problems -- But then, I guess PGI had no foresight for issues like this anyway, given that somebody at their studios is a Ballistic Weapons Freak.
- Event is incompatible with anyone who already has vulnerability to stress-based issues -- Yeah, really. Anyone remember the phrase "P(ost) T(raumatic) S(tress) D(isorder)"???
- While this one's not as hyper-important, this Event contains no (MC)-type Rewards to be gained -- In order for MWO to continue to be billed as a "True F2P", PGI is going to have to start awarding more of that needed commodity rather soon. We're getting near the End-Of-Year period again, and I'm sure there are people who are starving now for that particular resource for continuing to play.
- To deck things off, there hasn't been a recent In-Game Store sale on Clan Mechs -- This puts all kinds of dents in the Event with implications into how badly that those without super-giant Mech Stables are going to choke for having enough (C-Bills) to get additional Mechs that they would have needed to complete the Event Challenge Rosters.
- Finishing up this List of Bullet Points, there is the note that many currently are unable to view the Event Challenges with the In-Game Event Display -- Without a usable Website Version to view, those players are also getting placed in an untenable situation. Events should NEVER be launched when there is a Blatant Bug in the Game Client Code.

...as PGI has really screwed this Event up to the N-th Degree before it could even begin.
Frankly, I don't think I'll be out on the battlefield for this one. The situation is incompatible with myself, and every time I bring Ballistics, I get left to die. It doesn't matter whether I stick with a team or not, because they always put me out on the spot to get killed.

Lots of minor adjustments create something that works really well. I guess I should be used to staring at something PGI put together and thinking "WTF...why...?...I ....F it, guess I'll just play it."
***************************************************
On another note, I'm still optimistic about the Event tool. This is a bit of a silly first run for it but hey, it's something new right? Shoot some bots, roll your eyes at PGI and lets get going. Nah, as is we aren't going to finish. Nope, it's not new player friendly...<sigh> I guess they ditched website...still...it's the game.
They'll fix some of it quickly, probably the website part, and might modify some of the requirements. As time goes on it really does get better. No, not with resource allocations any of us can understand, no not at a speed that makes anyone happy...and ye gods some of the decisions...
But it really does get better. Not that the game will be around long enough to be what anyone wants at this rate of change, but screw it, it's the MWO we've got. When we've got better lord knows I'll be headed that way, but for now we don't.

I am only going off the screenshots and description here, but am I correct in that it is just 1 event with a time limit on it... and we all get the same daily?
I was hoping to have up to 3 total so that I can pick and choose what to focus on, maybe be able to dismiss 1 every 24 hrs if it's a challenge I don't want to go near. I'm also hoping for this so that we don't all have the same daily challenge... Example: Let's say ALL of us have the same daily to get X amount of kills with MGs... Now everyone is going to be running that build for the day and I might not even play.
Don't get me wrong, I think this is a great system for when you want to have those big planned out events (which require a lot of organization), but I was hoping to ALSO have something a little more organic. I like how my friends and I can get in HOTS and have different objectives that we are trying to meet... so we are playing to win the game, but we are also trying to (selfishly) complete our own objective. That's kind of where I thought this was leaning.
Maybe I'm just not understanding this correctly.

a bit overdramatic at times, but mostly absolutely right.
amusing point: i highly doubt many clanners will complete their ac challenge, since basically no one ever bought regular ac on clan side and the item probably wont be worthe the time - its certainly not worth for the mc-reward.
on a side note: does anyone know why PGI still hasnt managed to bring the lbx 2, 5 and 20 in the same "1slot less, 1 ton less than the regular ac" spot as they have done with the lbx10/ac10? the slot requirement on the lbx2 is especially ridiculous. 4 slots for a little mech shotgun dealing 2 dmg. wtf.
what are they afraid of? that everyone suddenly runs lbx instead of regular ac? because we all know how likely that is...
also, the new ultra-ac arent in line as well

Now I personally detest ballistic weapons, but that is mainly due to my ping, that being said, its fun to give them all a try.
Regarding the damage per weapon class, I would have preferred if you had to do something like say 500 damage with each weapon type, as the potential damage per tonne of ammunition is fairly consistent across the weapon classes. The lighter weapons are an absolute breeze to do, and I expect the AC 20 to be more of a mission.
@PGI, I did notice a discrepancy between the AC and UAC damage requirement? Was this intentional? The way it is now, you are not doing the stock AC any favours.
Well let me get back to stomping.

For the most part, the machine gun missions are the only ones that give tangible rewards.
Maybe an equipment discount to go along with the event would've been more approachable? Or more trial mechs that actually have ballistic weapons? Idk.
I know the game isn't designed to cater to only myself, which is the only argument I hear in defense of the event ("don't like it? don't play.") But in my eyes, after waiting a week or two for the next event after coming back to the game, my opinion is a resounding 'meh, this event isn't really worth it'.
Edit: Ah, the event viewer is great though! I just wish this event was worth it, or even playable for that matter...

IMO if the Mechs to use are the 100-Tonne KGC, 65-Tonne RGH or the 50-Tonne HBK-4G. The Hunchie is best to use if you are new since it is a decent chassis and it can effectively carry all the weapons in this challenge with ample ballistic quirks as well. AC/20 Cooldown: -10%, Ballistics Cooldown: -10%, Ballistics Range: 15%, Ballistic Velocity: 25%

Not ALL of them. I'm looking at the Atlas', and none of them are. I wonder if we caught them in mid-change; or they're limiting it.
And... the in-game event browser seems to have crashed. Is best event system.

Also a week event is a bit much, maybe 2-4 days to do things instead, unless there will be small 24 or 48 hour events running concurrently with these week long ones? Also a week long missile event, yeah, I'll take that week off from MWO, don't do a week long missile event PGI, please don't do it.
I think its alright. Specially for those that may have busy weeks or stuff. So everyone gets a chance.

PGI messes up a lot of stuff, but the new event system is hardly something to give them so much **** about; just play it with the ballistic weapons you **do** have, and get free ****.
If it costs more to complete a challenge than it rewards then....don't do it?
Edit: Also, dev null's post, wtf?
