HMGs are the worst MG at the moment I reckon, yet they have the highest damage requirement.
Try using a Urbie 60 with 4 HMG's and 2 ERML's. 1st try around 280 damage with HMG. 2nd try the counter is around 652. Nailed the 300 points.
The trick for machine guns is numbers. 4 is good. 3 is ok, 2 and below is not worth the space.
Did the RAC challenge with an Urbie and the RAC-2 was one match, the RAC-5 was 2.
Hang out with the assaults, hit the "R" key and shoot the red areas of the other mech. Repeat as necessary.
Since an Urbie 60 has more than 2 ballistic slots, it is on sale for half off. I think it is around 780,000 C-bills. You can do the RAC and MG challenges in less than 10 matches, which should pull down around 1.5 M C-Bills on 10 losses and double that if you manage to win them. More than enough to pay for the little thing.

I'm pretty sure a lot of the players were not that well off. Perhaps PGI could consider increasing the c-bill winnings next time?

I really appreciate you taking the time to give me feedback and allowing us to continually improve!
This event was born out of some simple criteria I had.
- Keep the event concept simple (ballistics only)
- uses statistics we have never used before (Weapon exclusive damage)
- get the event up early showing the Future events functionality- ( the day before)
- Create an awesome sale to complement the event (CHECK)
and I get the point that new players at a disadvantage (I will try to address this for future events)
but you don't have to complete every challenge.
I'll Probably throw in some Daily challenges to smooth this one out a bit. Everyone here is really excited about the potential this new system has.
FYI I am also planning on doing a “Lrmageddon” type event with all Missile Type weapons
and a “Pew Pew Pew” Energy event but I will refine the targets and rewards to make it suitable.
As far as posting the details on the Site as well I can do that moving forward but the tracking of progress and rewarding will be in-game for now.
We are looking into some issues where the detail window may not be showing for some people as well as an unrelated crash.
Matt
I think this event is almost where it needs to be, it just needs some minor tweaking. The req. damage seems to be tiered to scale with the weapons Alpha Output but should be a combination of the weapons tonnage/size & range. Lighter weapons will allow more to be boated and will engage more targets since their greater range. That balance of req. damage just needs to find the sweet spot of that formula and this event would be so much better (IMO it isn't off by a lot like others are trying to imply it just needs adjustment as it is definitely shouldn't be doubled each time you tier up).

i dont notice the difference between 9x crit chance to 13x crit chance. just shredds your mech apart as usual.

I also haven't noticed much of a difference on the receiving end. I've yet to get to the lmg challenge so I'll have to wait to see if I notice anything on the giving end

Will this Lrmageddon also include a Mech Support role bonus for Narc, Tag & AM/LAMS?
Also PLEASE ANSWER: Does the new event system support the Grab Bag & Choose-Your-Reward type events? Those seems to be everyone's favourite (more so on the pick your prize) type of rewards.

Damage goals could be better I agree.
Going to take the cost of equipment into consideration for sure next time, however, I won't be loking to cover the entire cost.
Combined stats is not an option at this point. Example: I can't say do 500 dmg with IS UAC's
In some challenges, we may even require specific Mechs! The system can get quite specific!
We already have a round of improvements we want to develop.
In the meantime, we're going to test the limits of our current system and work with you guys to create fun, rewarding events,

Hey Matt, thanks for checking into the community feedback and for responding!
I was thinking; what if you guys expanded the new system to include both "focused" events like the ones you are manually crafting, and then a collection of 3-5 "random" events?
The random events wouldn't be as detailed obviously, but they could give newbies and others much needed variety and alternatives if they are having difficulty achieving the focused event. Let them dismiss 1-2 of the random ones if they don't like them and have them populate with an alternative. Yes, I'm suggesting an augment to this system along the lines of HOTS, because that helps encourage continuous play to meet those objectives and receive rewards.
It would be amazing to see random events like this in MWO encouraging me to "Play X number of games in Y Weight Class", or "Achieve X damage using Y weapon type", or "Capture X points in Conquest", etc. Just different things to help encourage a diversity of game-play styles while rewarding that segment of your player-base that is not comprised of hardcore fans. The payoff could be tiered depending on the difficulty of the random event, but never as much as the reward for the focused event so that you don't completely draw away from it. Heck, some might get lucky and get a random that somewhat lines up with the focused event.
This also helps offset the difficulty of making everyone happy with focused events as people have alternatives that they can focus on or use to help augment the current one. Why bash your head against the wall trying to craft the perfect event, when you can augment it?
I know I'm just one player, but I hope that my suggestions and feedback are helpful.

Would like to see it mimicked on the web page still.
If not the tracking part, at least the base objectives.
It was always nice to see what the event entailed before being able to get on and make plans if needed.

I don't think that they need to worry about pleasing everybody. That is NEVER going to happen. (Stating the obvious, I know)
I don't even try Gauss events as I'm hopeless with them.
I'll state the obvious again. They need to make a majority of the players happy to get participation.
I do like the idea of having less focused events for new players or players that can't or won't participate in specific events. That way people still have incentive to play even if they don't have the necessary equipment to participate in a focused event.

Hi, thank you for listening!
The instant view on event standings is amazing. Somebody already pointed this out, but it would be nice if fulfilled goals stayed collapsed and only those not complete or rewards not redeemed would remain open.
A possibility to have a view of at least event goals in the web portal would be very user friendly, if there were standings too (even delayed by an hour or three - if you need to look at these offline it probably does not matter) it would be absolutely amazing...
My point regarding c-bill earnings was sort of in regards to the ongoing sale - it is hard to make use of the sale if you need to reserve funds to be able to do the actual challenge.
Other than that I mostly liked the IS event (the AC/20 damage score was a bit of a chore), still have to do the clanner one!
