Unobtainium, I say. They've strip-mined the planet down to the mantle all for the Unobtainium!
Where are the greenie's! oh, wait. They're already there hiding behind the dead trees.

I think the next map will be the Jungle one they mentioned.
THey show an Awesome from the inside on the map. It peaks quickly when it fires those PPCs, but it also drops heat very quickly.
Watching that AS7K from the inside, it looks like ERLLs drain energy very slowly, ie you get long range, but they seem to do somewhat poor DPS.

"Long range weapons shine, as at the ridge of the valley, you can see for kilometers." Would have been nice if the text and visuals had lined up at that point, giving a look down the ridge into the valley. This is my only gripe about the video, though.
And about the Hunchback at the end... the flamer being mounted so low makes it even funnier.

Also, the way the flames just stick through the enemy makes them look like long sticks of fire. Reflecting the stream off of the targets surfaces with a small random deviation added to the direction and slowing down the particles a bit on impact might help make it look more like the flames are engulfing the target. Then again, this is probably low priority, anyway, since they look quite ok as they are.

And in all honesty, it looks like they may actually be an effective weapon at least on this map. I never ever used them before unless it was a "forced" weapon in prior mech games, but after watching the end of that vid, damn, pumped plasma all the way!
(oh yeah, hey, an Urbie with flamer on this map could be effective too!)

But...um, hrm, this is awkward...how many proof-readers do you guys have?
I ask due to this:
Which is it, acidic or caustic(also, heat cannot be caustic)?
Do I have my mechanic toss in some baking soda or tomatoes in case I get some on me?
Umm... acidic and caustic are very different things and by no means opposites, they can be used interchangeably.
The acidic haze refers to the fog-effects formed by extremely dense pockets of acidic gasses (think hydrogen chloride).
Anything that is caustic, on the other hand, is capable of "burning, corroding, or destroying living tissue" (According to Miriam Webster), so heat can certainly be caustic.
I think you're confusing caustic with base (the opposite of an acid).

I laughed like an ***** when I saw that. Once I recovered, I wanted to edit in a soccer net and some guy yelling "GOOOOOOOOOAAAALL!!!!", which made me laugh like an ***** some more. My boss thinks I'm losing my mind in here.

yeas..that...i think it should be something with a little more "boom" in it....its a big *** gun make it sound big ***
Yeah, it's big. It's also electric, no cordite to go boom. Though, there could be a sonic-boom from it, but I'm not sure how much a sonic-boom would be heard inside a 'Mech cockpit.
