So I've been away from MWO for over a year, but now I'm back. And things have changed. A lot.

That's good.

I'm relearning and reequipping my mechs for the new faction play (no more long, long maps with huge wave marches apparently), and that's expensive. Unfortunately, I'm not getting c-bills for faction play matches.

I'm 100% sure of this. I spent all my c-bills, like only 19k or so left, went in and did a scout match we won and earned about 300k c-bills or so. When I got back to the hanger, I had my measly 19k still. None of the money the game said I earned.

So, my question(s).

Do we get paid for faction play? Do we only get paid at the end of conflicts? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?

Yes, we get paid for faction play. No, money shoud be on your account right after fight. There are 10 matches after the pledge without loyalty reward for the loyalists, don't know about any penalties for the mercenaries.
So it smells like space pirates, need to deal with them so they don't steal your income.

No, Van mw already pointed out what prevents you from earning right now. Scouting might be a good way to get through the ten first matches fast. You know, those matches that don't pay.

First, I'm in a merc unit, so no 10 match penalty.

But I'm also potato.

I'm running 2 light mechs with lots of consumables. And I've been consuming them all over my enemies. So 200-400k in c-bills going BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM all over the place. Also drones. But not as fun as boom boom boom boom.

Most you can spend in consumables is what, 200k/mech? So in a scout drop where you made 300k you should have had 100k in the bank. Screenshot before, match summary screen with earnings, and after and email to support. They'll get you fixed right up.

That said while I always carry dual strike/coolshot I am often not using a 2nd coolshot or strike depending on what is happening in the game.

UAVs are mostly redundant in FP IMO.

Um, isnt 4x40k 160k? Hope you dont cook your books too much with that kind of math Ash, might have to start calling you George Calombaris

I spend way less that that now a days due to bad ping and everyone on my team getting their strikes in while they are useful and me not using them at all.

sometimes it takes longer, I've left a couple matches , where I wasn't paid at the end, but it did show up later

Sounds like a glitch....er...feature....but you might be on some sort of probationary thing for a certain period of time that prevents you from earning. Weird.

If you want to maximize cbill earnings (and really, it's the best way to go since winning/losing is hardly a goal anymore), you need to learn the new bonuses. ALWAYS bring a NARC spotter. You're almost guaranteed to have a few LRM potatoes in a PUG drop. I've cleared 250k on counter ecm/narc kill bonuses alone in a single match. Hit and Run pays well, too.

When u go loyalist u have a 10 match probation period where u don't get any loyality points

There's just a small delay of getting the cbills, nothing more. Same thing in QP.

If you're burning consumables at the same rate you're making money then yeah no net gain. But it's hard to not run a profit off a well placed airstrike/arty. Just make sure since you said you're in a light to drip it behind a few mech's to get more than one hit.

I tried that . . and maybe, there is one person that might have a LRM15, but the other team always seem to have 5-8 lrm Boats . .I gave up trying to NARC when solo pugging

It takes 3 licks.

As much wood as a woodchuck could chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood.
