What quirks, if any, should the escalation mechs get? What quirks do they need to be good and/or differentiate variants?
https://mwomercs.com...-war-escalation
Osiris
Arctic Wolf
Nova Cat
Nightstar

I imagine the Nightstar is going to need mobility or armor quirks to compensate for its great, fat torso and its also fat arms.

The Nova Cat is going up against what, the Summoner? Its slower movement and larger pod space should differentiate it fine. Same goes for the Arctic Wolf (vs. the Viper).

No clue about the Osiris. It's 'Going Up' against the Javalin and Urbanmech, I guess - It's got ballistics instead of the Javelin's missiles (They meet in the middle with the energy variants), and the Urbanmech is its own thing. I'm sure it will need some quirks, like most IS mechs, but nothing to 'differentiate' it.

Nightstar 9J should get -100% hand actuators quirk so that I can put Gauss and 2 ERMLs in each arm.

Is the nova cat slower? Whats it clock in at? I dont have a summoner but I was really looking into the nova cat, I always assumed it was faster or the same. Maybe thats just because previous games gave it that amazing loping gait. I really hope they animate it nice like that.

The Nova Cat has a locked in 280XL engine (65km/h TT value), versus the Summoner's locked 350XL (86.4km/h). Both are 70 tonners.

EDIT: In addition, completely Armor/Equipment Stripped...

Summoner: 32 tons, 35 crits
Nova Cat: 51.5 tons, 40 crits

Osiris:

Lights don't give meaningful quirks for the most part, so whatever! Posted Image

I don't expect much for the Osiris. Maybe some useless laser range, boring mg fire rate and maybe slight missile velocity. Can't have a better 30 tonner than the Spider!

But at least i'll get to play a MW4 pirate mech in Ops Pink. Nostalgia y u do dis.

I'd argue the Javelin is better than the Spider but that's not important. I do agree though the Osiris will get minimal quirks.

I actually think the Nightstar will get the most.

I wouldnt expect too many meaningful quirks on any of the mechs since PGI has become anti-quirk after the skill tree dropped. If anything, i doubt any mechs will have more then ~10 structure/armor extra, and prolly 5-10% on something like energy cooldown or duration or some other meaningless stat that noone would actually notice in game.

Very possible. I do wish they'd be more transparent with these things.

NSR-9FC would actually turn out great if it got 10% energy range. Will be #mediocre with Gauss-vomit, but as an ERLL boat it would do alright as long as it got range.

Novacat needs a "Definitely not a Night Gyr" quirk.

It so totally is just a Night Gyr though. A Night Gyr without Laser heat Sinks.

Actually, I haven't looked at that mech in a while... does it still have Laser Heat Sinks?

Yup, still has the -100% external heat transfer quirks.
