QP is now the land of total poo, teams are composed of tier 1 through tier 10's. Half your team has no clue what they are doing, wandering around looking at the scenery- sub 100 score for most of the team are getting common.

Thanks PGI, I wanted to just play a casual FUN team game, but we are now into the game of 1v1 or 2v2, not interested. Time to take a break before I just uninstall, hopefully MWO doesn't curl up and die, making more ques was the stupidest thing PGI has ever done- what MM, and that says a lot.

Umm, QP has been utter crap for few years now. Problems with tiers and matchmaker has been brought up since its induction, and it has gradually become worse and worse, as predicted. Now with solaris, finally giving a place where good players can solo drop without having to carry sacks of potatoes that problem becomes more glaring. Perhaps some people get fed up with solaris and some vets return there, but I would not keep my hopes up as to QP getting any better in the future.

Dont play qp to win, play for fun. After all the game matches random people with random people. The best thing to do is enjoy and have fun, and if you do alot of dmg and kills then good on you as long as you had fun doing so

There is also an issue where T1 player that hasn't played in a year...thier Tier never degrades over time...
So that person drops again after having played a year old meta that may or may not work anymore...and is a total potato, not to mention, your skill level drops significantly over time.

So that compounds things.

Luckily though S7 is here so we have the option of side stepping QP for a bit and just rely on yourself in 1v1.

It’s become noticeably worse since Solaris dropped. I’m still having fun, but that’s because I like trying to carry and the sheer random WTF factor is kind of refreshing. Instead of everybody doing the same stuff, there are often 4-8 players on each team off doing their own crazy thing. Kind of a challenge adapting to a more fluid battle space because you really can’t assume people are going to play the maps in the “usual” manner.

I really don't think there's been any fluctuation in the quality of QP. If there's been anything different lately, it's the influx of soft and squishy unskilled Uziels running around.

But QP is what it is -- a group of randos facing another group of randos. Who knows how good each player is, how hard they're trying, whether they're in a metabuild, how many drinks they've had, etc. etc.

Don't let your expectations get too high.

people have been complaining about the e-peen l33t meta tryhards in qp for years, how they were ruining the enjoyment for everyone who just wants to have fun. Now that many tryhards left for S7, spuds rejoice, the solo qp nascarwarrior safespace sandbox is all yours

Seems like another round of Lurm-pocalypse lately. In words from my last match, 3 minutes into a conquest, "Umm should we take Theta?" Nope, we're surrounded because we didn't move, so it's too late for that. At this point our best option is to just stand around and wait to die, thanks, Better luck next time. <Back at the mechlab, checks for 4xLRM-20 mechs in roster>

After enduring a noticeable degradation in the groups/individuals the QP MM set me up with, I decided that I needed to take steps to lower my BP. Watching entire assault lances swirl around lost and confused back at the drop point, slowly lurching to the frontlines at 48kph, and then immediately overheat and shutdown. Heavies bravely chasing lights away from the front despite the 40+kph difference in speed and disappearing for a long time. Superheroic lights dashing forward into an enemy assault line only to discover that the other side actually have people that can shoot well. Finding out that while it stings to get the highest match score on your side while losing, it really hurts on those rare times you get the highest score on both teams and still lose. All have contributed to what my physician has classified as "mechwarrior hypertension"

Fortunately, he has prescribed some BT to use until my blood pressure is reduced. Treatment is ongoing; prognosis: good.

My hubby has high blood pressure, and he used to rage at this game a lot.

He's gonna die of a heart attack someday. D;

I find it interesting that you continuously try to deride players who try to do well AND have fun....

Still win and lose just as often as I did when I started this game. Getting some more kills, trying to improve my average match score, going up in percentile are what keep me playing. That and there are so many different weapons to master.

I guess that makes me a tryhard, but whatever.

The issue is with your mentality, not the SQ. You do not seem to be staying casual if you are exasperated with the matches.

QP is total trash for any thing resembling team work now. At best you get 'talkers' on the loading screen team chat more than happy to say hi and wish you luck before running silent all match. The Com wheel? Sometimes some one tries that enemy spotted one when the spuds arn't neg and aff-ing each other on the com wheel because they can.

I run pretty much any build I can think of in QP now no matter how troll or useless it is. AC 20 Raven, 3 flamer spider 5d, 1 point of armor locusts, you get the idea. Why? because teams are so potato they aren't even seeds. using smurrfy I've found the best stealth mech that I own just so I can sit back and watch the first three minutes play out. first team to get that 0-3 score wins the vast majority of the time.

i mean i had a 1 vs 1 locust battle in domination mode on frozen city. Found an PB in the tunnel with er mls x4 and ams against my lct 1m 2x er ml build. PB ran, fired back a few times and ran like a girl. I chased it all over the map shooting it. I could have just went back to the pee stain but I noticed the kill counter at 0-5 in favor of the enemy. No coming back from that.

The command wheel is quite useful for calling out targets; I use it whenever possible. Not sure why you'd be opposed to that.

Even casual players want something a little more than RNGesus. It's like playing a "casual" game of chess with brain-damaged toddlers. No matter how relaxed you are about it, it's still not fun. That's pretty much what solo-QP in T3 & under has become. I've run out of WTF, it's gotten that bad. I've still got one of my new Fafnirs (5B) that I don't really even want to finish grinding skill nodes on except I spent real money for it/them.

I used to log in and play for several hours. Now, I can only stand to play maybe 4 matches and I have to log out. Posted Image

He didn't say he opposed using it as intended. It's just rarely used at all in solo-QP (same with VOIP, yakety-yak in the lobby, silence afterwards...if they even have it enabled at all) and when it is, it usually just consists of a string of "Affirmative" "Negative" repeated over and over until their ADD kicks in and then nothing the rest of the match.
