So apart from the hollonder. http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Hollander. Is their any IS Light mech that can carry a IS Gauss Rifle? I see the firestarter H can fit one. Is it practical, no but thats not the reason why you play one.

Eh, being 30 tons is mathematically a huge disadvantage when trying to use one of the heaviest weapons in the game. If you're gonna do a non-MG ballistic light you need to be 35 tons, no exceptions.

On the IS side I guess the best bet is the Raven. It's got high mounts, arm mounts, small arms, and JJs. Otherwise I guess there's the weird Panther 10P.

If somebody wants to have an actual semi-serious Gauss light then the best answer is the Puma on the Clan side, because Clan tech.

I looked at the Raven, shame the Ballistic slots in the arm. I will still try it out since I own that mech already.

I personally have a gauss Panther I dink around with occasionally. it's pretty fun and semi useful and with dual Rocket 10s for backup, not bad for support but limited most everywhere else.

That's a good thing. It means that your Gauss is less likely to be shot out, and if it does get shot out there's a chance you might survive the explosion.

Its just the extra weight you save buy stripping the armor on the arms. Plus once you loss the weapon you are in theory dead anyways. And I was after a high mounted ballistic in the torsos. But at least the Ravens is high mounted.

not really. you wont blow up if you for some bizzare reason decide to go with LFE and it gets destroyed and explodes.

So sat down and did some crunching, first up was a Shoulder Mounted Gauss rifle. Firestarter H
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...1ae12a857a3a82a

Then the Raven with a Gauss
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...7fe0ccfaefacc70

Then a Raven with a light and back up.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...0c59620f05de7c3

Going to try both Ravens and see how I go. Surprisingly the Light Gauss Raven looks the best.
hope links work, if not I will try and fix them later. Bruno o/

I had a good time putting a Light Gauss in one of my Urbies. It wasn't super effective, but I enjoyed it.
