Most decent locust builds strip armor from the head cause it's so tiny and if you stop moving you get cored by just about any body's alpha anyway. Good luck with your headshot achievement folks, but I would not focus on the Locusts for it.

I wasn't going to.

Honestly, I doubt I'll give it a serious go either way. Over 2,600 games played, and I've gotten two headshots. One of which I got with an LB-10X. From 700 meters away.

I'm not a very accurate man.

I'll probably take this Gargoyle that's pretending to be a Flamer Nova out for a match or two that day just for a laugh, but it would shock the hell out of me if anything came of it.

Wait, what? Kill someone while using a Heatshot? How does that work.

EDIT: Wait, do you mean Headshot? **** that.

You're T1 though? Headshot won't be hard if you are there.

I generally get one a night if I'm caring aobut it, even with my 250ms ping, that everyone else uses as an excuse for how bad they are.

At least it isn't something like, get a headshot ON TERRA THERMA or get a headshot ON A BATTERY CARRIER, etc.

Could it at least be a lvl 50 FaceMcShooty?

Opposite edge of Thousand Cuts (right after the B.A. Constructor on the way to Bunker) with a Longbow.

Ye.

Lower mouse setting.

Run dual Gauss.

IIRC I popped 3 H/S's in a game the other night. Bit of luck there IMO, but given the amount of players that just STARE at you... They come easily enough.

Only issue I see with dual gauss is that now with skill tree heads have around 40 health and gauss doesn't crit as high as it used to. Got to hit and then get lucky with them having a stripped hit. That or get two headshots in a row I guess.

I got a headshot on a Stalker staring at me with a clan laser alpha this one time in FW, I should honestly just remember aim for heads more often, think I'll do that next time I play.

I actually typically avoid the head because the last thing I want is to calculate my risk on assumed torso damage and then get a non-fatal head-shot that is, effectively, a whiff on the target was aiming for because a follow-up is unlikely.

We must endeavor to git gud to the point where a follow up on the head hitbox is likely.

MWO, where scoring a headshot is almost always a negative event.

Working on that ATM. Still in the "work on not whiffing the Gauss shots completely" phase.

1. Assuming people max survival... I sure as hell rarely do.

2. Run more than *just* dual Gauss. Only need a couple extra lasers or something to tickle the armour first.

3. Also assuming everyone runs full head armour, plenty do not. I love hitting a fresh head with dual gauss and it goes pop. You know they skimped on armour.

I think I'm just gonna stick with center mass. I'm too decrepit for this headshot thing.

Here is a tip: Battlemasters are very easy to headshot--as their cockpit is located in the centermass between the energy hardpoints. If you see the chassis, prioritize it. Posted Image

I usually always go max survival and occasionally drop head armor by 5 points on some builds. Guess I do things a bit differently than others, but yeah those lasers sure would help. I'd need a Mad Cat mk2 or something though, a heavy wouldn't cut it and I really don't feel like bringing out the Dire Wolf.
