This is getting pretty obnoxious. I know I only have to get to Tier 3 for this to not really be a problem anymore but I'm concerned what this would do to new players. The past 3 matches I have had Team Killers on one side or the other. I'm not talking about accidental fire kills. I'm talking intentionally turning just after drop and unloading into a friendly unit on purpose.

The match I just had had not only one on my team in a Kodiak but another on the enemy team doing the same thing.. To put a stop to it we had to turn and kill the one on our team which I'm sure there were some MM penalties imposed for team damage. In match the guy was notified he was being recorded and would be reported. His answer "Don't care I'll just make a new account. IP Ban won't stop me I'll just bypass it like I always do"

T5 has had it's own resident troll duo/trio for over a month now. Given the effectively infinite number of accounts available to them and a constant stream of newbies, I fully expect them to be tormenting people until PGI can figure out ban-by-hardware.

Either that or make a mandatory 3 matches against AI or something, the trolls would get bored of running through it every time they get banned.

With the added benefit of actually helping new players!

PGI can track all account usage from the machine the trolls are using. So at the end of the day, keep reporting them and their main accounts will get banned too.

All PGI has to do is eliminate team damage until the 25 cadet matches are completed. That will kill the Tier 5 TKers. They are not going to play 25 games before they can TK just to have the account then deleted and have to start over.

Why would they have a main account if their only goal is to run off new players and team kill?

If they do this in a game they must be real douches IRL as well. Dun worry too much, Karma will catch up with them and their rather empty existence.

Karma is slow as hell.

Well it's went to the point now that they have been harassing a streamer and a member of the community. This is to the point of making names that in themselves are in violation.. but they are also making comments in Twitch and in game chat while hunting those people in matches. PGI will still have my support but I'm taking a short break until something gets done or they get bored.

The sad truth is HWID (hardware ID) is a pointless endeavor as well, which i will not discuss why since that goes against CoC.

But yeah, not much you can really effectively do against this type of behavior if they're dedicated enough. Why even do it in a game that's not even popular? Idk.

Relax, you probably have more than 1 rabbit, just drop again and get out of T45. PGI will make an auto-ban for excessive team damage within a certain amount of time from the start of the match, but it'll take 3 years give or take 2 years.

I like the idea of no team damage during Cadet matches. I also suggested on a similar thread that every new account should have to achieve a passing score on every tutorial in the MechWarrior Academy before being allowed to drop. The idea isn't to prevent TKers completely, it's to slow them down enough that it isn't worth the time they'd have to invest in their 'hundreds of throwaway accounts' to get their pathetic jollies. It wouldn't negatively impact true new players, for whom either proposed solution would actually benefit them (whether they want it or not).

Might be slow but it will happen, besides, we all know they are sitting in mummies basement giving themselves first person shooters.

I like the idea of PGI caring enough to do something more.

This has been going on for months. How many new players have been put off the game in that time?

I actually have to disagree with this one.. I don't think they are douches IRL.. I think that IRL they are probably totally socially awkward people who have no friends, can't get a date, and are probably abused by their peers and parents, so they lash out in the only way they can - by being childishly obnoxious trolls in a videogame, where they are nice and safe behind a screen, and nobody can beat them up.

Maybe the way to deal with these poeple is to send social services or a police car to their house, talk to their parents or with them personally, and try to see what is really going on..

Being abusive in a videogame is usually a symptom of a deeper underlying issue, similar how psychopaths usually start hurting animals before they hurt people.

Something like a one-week grace period for new accounts where they can't inflict any friendly fire damage might be good. It requires the TK'ers to go do something else for a week, and has the added benefit of allowing newbies to adjust to the control scheme without the risk of team damage and loss of earnings.

Better off making it for their first 25 matches, cadet bonus achievement, no team damage.

Cadet Bonus no friendly fire, and forcing them through the tutorial is a good idea.

Tutorial is good for new players anyway, and it isn't exactly going to take up lots of time for someone creating just 1 alt account.

No friendly fire for 25 matches doesn't impede anyone what so ever (except the TKers, of course).

Also, I'm sure PGI has enough data to show what actual accidental TK rate is - do people really achieve more than 1 TK for 3 matches in a row? Maybe when something like that is detected, they are automatically thrown in to training mode again... And PGI alerted to check the account...

To ensure the other team wins? It happens in FW quite a bit when IS groups are dropping and they've got an odd man out or two that can't make the group. They hop on their alt accounts and hope to be against their buddies, then they work from within to help them win. Happens more often than you'd think.
