Has anyone found a better brawling build than this for IS?
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...70a49dd24beeec4

Can be configured to have SRMs in both torsos instead of deadsiding for those who don't like putting all their eggs in one basket.

I remember the old Griffin 2N being the scouting meta with its quad ASRM6, STD 275, ECM, and shield arms, though its defensive quirks were weak and many people would run it with an XL and get deleted by an XL check. This Bushwacker comes with higher armor quirks than the Griffin had structure, LFE 280 so it moves faster while retaining durability, can run quad ASRM6, can fire an 80 damage rocket alpha which can be followed up in 0.5 seconds by the SRM alpha to potentially one shot any clan 50 tonner's CT, can deadside very effectively, has great hitboxes, and has higher leg armor than the Griffin if the Clanners are smart enough to go for legs.

Good old Griffin 2N could take out Stormcrow squads with relative ease, now with this much more powerful mech and Clans reduced to 50 tonners it seems like a cakewalk. Still, I'd like to know if anyone has come up with a more effective medium brawler than the one I posted. Gimme some smurfy links if you got 'em.

CASE - useless, spread the ammo out and put that tonne back into arm armour at the very least.

Well take a duel against LMG+ERML/HML ACH/MLX and you will lose, slow mech with very limited range.

Funny story, I added in CASE only after dying to ammo explosions twice in a row, RNG hates me and I'm hedging my bets.

I can see an ERML skirmisher build being potentially effective if it just kites out of range constantly, usually there's at least one dedicated light pilot in the group for moving to and outbrawling someone who does that though.

The Hunchback 4G remains a solid brawler. Its armor quirks, -25% crit receiving, and AC quirks work nicely with a the Skill build focused on cooldown/range, 1/2 the armor tree, and most of the mobility tree. You can get the AC cooldown to just under 3 secs and have CT and RT front armor of 60+. It is not fast, but the mobility skill tree returns most of the turn and torso mobility from the pre-skill tree days. Its also heat efficient when using the main weapon effectively. It does require you have good steady aim.

HBK-4G

I would Probably go with something like that IF I would take HBK-4G 3 tons of ammo should be enough without massive miss'fest but that would mean most likely losing anyway.

Seems viable, but yet still much worse than the Bushwacker. You have 3.5 less max DPS (accounted for quirks) before the rockets are accounted for, lower sustained DPS, more face time, much less total armor, lower alpha strikes, and potentially a wee bit too much rear armor. The only advantage it seems to have over the Bushwacker is range due to its quirks and having a max range past optimal.

Also you can add light FF armor to your build to get another half ton or so to play with, could upgrade your small laser to another medium or something.

I'd likely run the Hunchback 4G like this if I were to take one out: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...4e61a9673e112b0

That build is gonna be slow for a 40 tonner, with about 107 kph base speed. Dunno if Artemis is gonna be worth losing about 16 kph.

Needs to skips Artemis and JJ and think a 280xl and no heat sinks.

122 kph, 4 srm6, 5t ammo with a 1.6 HE.

122kph with tweak

Not having artemis is a sin on this mech, kills it's killing potential tremendously.
