Gonna wait and see what happens, if anything I got a screenshot to prove it wrong.

Was in an Urbie shooting an Urbie on Tourmaline when a Wolverine hits me on the right. We're losing so I say heck with it, 1 v 1 him. He gives me 4 hits while I shoot him, last one I jump spread the damage across my little trash can. I see his RT open so shoot it, he dies from his XL engine getting hit then curses me and the game out saying I was hacking and should have died from 5 Alphas of SRMs and a Laser 'to my CT, enjoy the ban.' Funny thing the first hit was on my right side, I jump spread one of the other hits and he is using missiles thinking it all hit my CT.

You're standing there blasting RACs, lasers or whatever and idiot man wants to run thru them on your team, YOU GET PENALIZED??? REALLY!

The game can already see when you do team damage, so why can't the game differentiate between you shooting your team or your idiot team running thru your laser fire etc?

I mean as simple as;

You-A shoot B-teammate in the back = team damage
You-A shooting at C-enemy + B-teammate(moron) runs thru your laser or whatever = B-teammate(moron) gets penalty NOT YOU! YOU did nothing wrong!

Maybe the above is impossible to program but I wouldn't think so.
Take WoW for example. You can't shoot your faction unless you are dueling. So just remove the entire feature from MWO so you cannot shoot your teammates. Then there will be NO WAY to do team damage = remove penalty system altogether!

Every QP I play I get team damage cos ppl are stupid yet they aren't the ones getting penalized!

But you'll never see that Penalty System pop up stating, you are stupid and keep running into teammate's fire so you gotta wait now....lol

Hi
i played a game where we had a TK on, he kill 3 of us before he was taking out.
so we lost that game(the team played great we nearly won it)

a couple week ago i also ran in two team killers, and it is starting to annoy me a lot, i have use many money on this game, i would be sad if i had to find an other game to play, but i hate the it ruin my game Posted Image

so i think its time we get a new banning system.
and i have an idea if one starting shooting on multi friendly mech he should turn pink, meaning we should be allow to kill him with out any punishment, but if he start shooting on a fresh or nearly fresh mech and kill it, he should be auto eject and the dead player should over take the killer mech.

that way we only lose one mech and can still win the mach.

or at least stop let noobs, use trial assault mech, (There weapons of choice is a kodiak)
to the have play maybe 50 games.

ps please don't name any TK that will close this thread.

Honestly the internet needs a new ban system but it never happens because of the Free Internet movement.

TKs, they happen no excuse for them but they are way more rare compared to other games. So little TK is actually one of the reasons this is almost the only Online game I play anymore no joke.

I admit I do see a significant amount of players who seem to think they are in movie Wanted and think their shots curve around allies to magically hit enemies thus I have gotten a significant amount of FF in my backside. A few match I even did a text line about it. Once I had a guy using LRMs so close to my back, he hit me more than opponents.

With LRMs.

That curve up over people most of the time.

IS mechs this not so much of a problem IS LRM have minimum range and fire in big groups but Clan can do some damage under 180 and they stream. Putting 80 Clan LRMs in to someone back at just under 180 not great

I remember when this was happening... Multiple Toxics in Kodiaks around this time hitting people in the backs with full alphas at the start drop in. Such tools exist sadly.. I believe they were banned at some later point..

I actually got team killed yesterday, accidents do happen, but actual aholes exist as well sadly.

Just report them not much else you can do.

My personal favor is team mates that run in arty and air strikes when you make it VERY clear they are. God even got ULTRA unlock one shot cockpit kill on a team mate that did that once...

Ever hear of fire discipline?

Lift your finger off the trigger for a second or less
Just a second or less!
Till the friendly mech passes

Well, they were banned, but since they were using single-use accounts, I doubt it hurt them much.

One advantage of being in Tier 1 is that I do not have to deal with them, since they start in Tier 5.

I do feel that making cadets incapable of damaging friendly mechs for their first 25 matches would be a nice improvement. If they try to abuse this by speeding through 25 matches by joining & disconnecting quickly just add a soft ban for 5 consecutive disconnects. Something like you can't play for 24 hours after 5 consecutive disconnects.

I feel this makes the effort of griefing too high for most trolls to bother with.

Trigger discipline. I always stop shooting when that happens. One of the worst is if someone walks in to a alpha from my heavy laser Hellbringer I always take my beams off target

There will always be griefers , always have been.
At least we dont have the jihad jeepers we had in MW4.

A lot of the suggestions amount to burning down the house to catch the mouse.

I play often, in tier 5 . i dont see it as a massive problem needing any more than the current systems (mileage will vary).

Use TAB key, click on offending player, report them. Encourage others to do the same via chat. the more that report the better.

No plan survives contact with the enemy, and no game will ever be entirely free of the griefers.

A couple of aesthetic changes that wouldn't hurt either;

1. Make team dealt damage register as purple on the guy getting hits HUD, so he immediately knows if it was enemy fire or a misfire or a troll.

2. Have a comms sound play "check your fire" and have that come up in the offending players text box too, to immediately let a player who misfires know they did, and to let trolls know that it can be tracked like that.

It won't solve everything, but these should really already be in, as it is about instant communication without forcing that from the player in all instances, similar to monitoring your lances health levels in the top left.

I completely agree here... it will also help deter the idiots that think they have to check to make sure their weapons work when first dropping in (where most of my aggravation with FF comes into play). And #2 should have been in the game from the get go... not everyone speaks the same language, so having the comms issue a localized warning message to the offending player, and a message to the receiving player of who inflicted that damage would become a huge deterrent IMO..

I can't tell you the number of times I've had my rear armor shredded in the first 20 seconds of the match.. yeah, I'm still alive, until the first light comes around that I can't outturn, then my game is over....

Like most games, the report system is not actually connected to anything. It is there to make you as the reporter feel warm and fuzzy and that is it.

If they haven't done anything to trigger the auto-ban, then nothing will happen. Well, there is one other case if you read the most recent news announcement.

Not in my experience
If enough people report the system will send a warning email automatically
Not sure what happens if reports keep coming, wasn't game to test that far Posted Image

They have to be careful to make a system that people can't abuse

I only saw 3 cases in 4 months:

1) 2 guys were in conflict before launch, they started to fight, one killed another.
2) 2 Awesome. One shoot PPC. Other AWS shoot back. They were shooting each other for some time...
3) Light picked a fight on ATLAS. ATLAS killed him pretty fast.

Thats all.

We all lost in these fights. Not so big tragedy.

I have to say that that bugs me too. You drop and a bunch of yahoo's fire of their weapons like its a Afghani wedding or something.

They work, they always work and invariably someone cops some FF.

I also use weapons fire as a signal there is something to fire at, so when i see a team mate on my flank shooting, i assume they have a target. and change my position.

Having said that its a PUG match, That sort of unprofessional undisciplined pew pew pew for the sake of it comes with the territory i guess.

Ive seen some TK griefers over the years but im my case its pretty rare. I saw an entire lance wearing the same tags drop about 2 weeks ago, and then all leave together 10 seconds in, leaving us without an assault lance. 8 Vs 12 from the very start of match. That was pretty crappy imo

This is why "W" is the first key I hit after the mission start: Not to start nascaring, but to be as far from those players as possible. Posted Image

Try pressing '0' instead - then you can relax and let the mech do the walking while you do the talking

(0 sets throttle to 100% for those who don't know)

COVID changed that.

A game I quit recently that has way more players than this one, I was reporting people for obvious stuff like abusive usernames, obvious hacks such as the Infamous Spawn Dance, etc. Not all got acted on, I recall and still have screenshots of a guy with a clearly racist username, kept seeing him for a few months after reporting him both in and out of game client.

Company had said up front to expect slowdowns in their reactions due to remote work forced by COVID but really, several months and still nothing?
