Why not just make it 50/50? Why would their be any tie in the invasion of a planet?

At least let the Inner Sphere win, give them back their planets so Clans can have another attempt at them.

  • LocationTo Nova or not to Nova. That is the question.

Or you could a tie as 'just hanging on'.
the planet may not get taken but defending forces are severely depleted forcing the regroup of mechs into new regiments ready to defend again.
Not enough resources to bolster the damaged units.

Now if we had an actual attrition option that we could see this sort of effect come into play, that would be pretty exciting.

cant we just have 2 five player clan stars vs 3 inner sphere lances?

No. let me exaggerate to explain why this wont work. Counterstrike , 2 teams , 1 of 3 people with ak47's (clan) 1 of 24 with knives (IS), open, empty carpark map with a few stree light poles being the only cover, you cant throw the knives and you cant pick up the ak's if you somehow kill one of the ak team. Which team is everyone going to want to play on ?

You would get an even worse player skill and numbers disparity if you adjusted the team numbers and made clan mechs better and IS mechs worse, everyone and their dog would go clan. Since Skill tree tech has been pretty close to balanced, player skill and co-ordination required and rewards for each side is not balanced. Clan gets more cbills because they do more damage, IS doesnt get more cbills for having bonus armor, Getting into brawl range and armor/player cycling is a lot harder to co-ordinate than poking from range.

The only solution is a massive event with great rewards which is advertised in advance for a whole month through multiple media's (which will bolster numbers) with the simultaneous introduction of a split FP queue of casual solo queuemode (with a matchmaking system) or hardcore mode (2 to 12 person groups ( except 11 of course) with a small amount of MC given to each player after each game, not to the unit leader (a much better MC system than holding planets) and balancing the MC rewarded after each game to higher or lower values depending on which queue is getting the numbers. Same rewards / effect on the tug of war bar from both queue's.

I could have sworn I completed the challenge (12/12) but, for some reason, lists 11/12 - no reward. Anyone else?
