Wait a second...most of the people reporting a "visit" on this here thread have at one time or another said something critical regarding PGI.

Uh oh.

They've turned over forum banning to a bot haven't they?
Sigh.
See you guys in a week.

I've never said anything critical about PGI in my life!

I mean, I may have made an image or gif or two on the subject... but I never said!

Ah but you liked my posts that criticized PGI. Death by association!

Not really but I wish. I am far too lazy and cheap to multi account.

Wow, this is cray. And to think I posted this on a whim after a few coincidental observations. I guess I can be right about something once in a blue moon on here.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

He visited me too, so maybe it is after anyone who has ever been critical. That or the anagram "Swamp to Rule" is just a coincidence

Yeah, he visited me too, and I haven't posted in here for months. So most likely a bot. Posted Image

And I dare say that I didn't openly critize PGI to date, at least not that I know of. I'm too apathatic (is that a word?) to get worked up enough for that kind of stuff.
So if he's marking me for the inevitable purge, I'd be surprised....and rather miffed Posted Image

Might be a crawler collecting data on players who have forum accounts. People share all kinds of things on their forum profiles. One interesting stat that can be collected is whether a player is banned or not ands if the ban is because of cheating.

I also was visited. Strange, no info on the "mwo super all" forum profile.. looks like someone programmed a bot to just scroll through forum pages. My guess is either a school pet project, or someone WANTED to creep us all out, and succeeded

Someone is collecting data.

The questions are: what data? And for what purpose?

Our profiles contain:
  • personal information such as birthday, location, gender
  • when we signed up
  • who are our forum friends
  • our topics, posts, numbers of posts, and average frequency of posting
Who would want such data? How could they use it?

Hypotheses:
  • PGI is trying to build a profile of their customer base pre-MW5.
  • Harmony Gold's lawyers are gathering input for their court case.
  • Hackers are gathering personal information for use in payment system fraud.
  • Someone from Reddit is going to analyse and post data on The Brown Sea.
  • Paul is running Sentiment Analysis on posts so he can set the MatchMaker to Punish.
  • Tina suddenly realised there's a community and maybe it has something to do with her job.

There was a thread on reddit about some people getting banned, how to identify it and then someone made a short list about such players, saying it based on what the forum profile says. So it was probably his crawler, you need a forum profile to read the text.

And I'm getting a clairvoyant vision about this thread not making it till Monday.
