Is It Just Me, Or Does This Upcoming Faction Event Favor Mercs Again?

It takes 7 days to break loyalty with your current faction, we were given what...a day's notice about this event?
Shouldn't PGI allow us to pay some kind of cbill penalty to break loyalty quicker, or at least give us some sort of option to join an appropriate side for an advertised event?

Please explain your position here.
Are you saying you, as a loyalist, feel somehow cheated (or whatever) at not being able to break loyalty to go play as a loyalist of a different faction?

wouldn't that just mean you are a merc too?
Concept of loyalist I'm pretty sure is...you stick to a faction...not jump ship whenever convenient.

I wonder just how many loyalist IS units are there anyway?
Or for that matter Kurita units?
And I'm not talking 1 or 2 man units.
Why not just call it Merc Vs. Whichever side gives the most Swag Event?
I don't think it's enough loyalist left to care anymore.

And don’t forget the units who have maxed out the merc rewards and are now “loyalists” but loyalists that have no real negative consequence for breaking loyalty and moving around to the various loyalist factions just to have something to do (e.g. “welp, we have enough loyalty rewards in this faction, lets move on to the next new faction with 50% payout bonus”). Do we count those folks as actual loyalists for purposes of population balance or even merely planing these oh so special events? In effect, for such older players, even the loyalist label is for all intent and purposes that of “long term contract mercs”; give em better rewards in another faction and they’ll move along...and ya really can’t blame them.

Problem solved, and it's so obvious I don't quite understand how it was missed.

-Mercs and loyalists from other factions get the same rewards.
-loyalists from the 2 factions get extra rewards
Yes...Mercs could come off contract and go loyalist during the event. But the probation period and no Merc bonus will cost them 5 million c-bills or more (vs. just remaining Merc) of earnings during the event if they go that route. So, while they could get the loyalist items....it may not be worth the significant loss of c-bill earnings to do it. So...At least it's actual "trade-off".
As a loyalist, I knew I wouldn't get the bonus items when they launched this. I am totally fine with particular factions loyalists getting a extra couple of bones tossed their way. Just as long as they make these events for all the factions...so we can each get a shot at them.

Of course there is. It's that big, completed, useless picture to the left of your post where an individual avatar would be on any decent, God fearing forum.

It's been 547 days since PGI
PGI should have never given the Mercs their own reward tree. They should have been farming the faction trees.
You know, win loyalty points with one faction while losing loyalty points with another. It's called a trade off.
Instead PGI decided to giver mercs all the benefits and all the loyalist got was the the
Faction contracts should be reset evey time the map is reset.
We've had 3 map resets and no contract resets.
B.T.W. a a faction reset would have the added advantage of cleaning out all the inactives that skew the PGI population numbers that skew the Merc contract bonuses.
and i still don't remember the part that said picking Kurita Loyalist will last untill the servers shut down.

Quick thing; Do you not notice the negative loyalty points for enemy factions in the match score screen? Yes, it is pretty small numbers loss but it does exist.

There really isn't. The loyalty rewards are about as lowball as they can get. The fancy loyalty hanging item one got from pre-ordering mech bundles is only 5% and one has to make sure it is equipped on a mech in your drop deck.
Then there is the breaking of your contract, which the OP talked about.
They need to fix the system.
