I would actually say that it would look awful with straight horizontal arms.
Why not arms like Urbie or BlackJack, better yet the Catapult?
Please start a thread before the drop?
PGI, please listen to your customers?

I kinda feel like I need to add my voice to this.
Why the fatigued arms ??
Between the art and end result, I kinda feel betrayed on what was being sold to me.
First time I ever consider asking for a refund PGI :/ not cool
This was a weird decision...

Not to mention the aggressive downward slant of the arms such that the Gauss rifles are essentially hip level.
Why go to such lengths to nerf the mech???

i don't think the people responsible for modeling/rigging the mechs have any stake in the balance of the game.

I've got an Ultimate bundle, and now I'm considering refunding it. It was pitched to us with high mounted arms, these are not that. To boot, too much of its firepower is in those very same arms and the other hardpoints are mostly head and CT, and IS weapons are big.
What, exactly, was the plan here?

"Oh but I can't hill-peek from 900m away with my 90t double gauss assault mech!!!" Then stop hiding 900m away and start side poking instead. And if/when your team sucks and you never get a chance to push properly, just sigh, blame the PUG queue and drop again.
On a related note I'm glad I pre-ordered it. I have too many assaults but this thing just looks amazing.
Also, RE: Nova Cat... how soon did it overheat after those screenshots were taken?
EDIT: Ok so I've gone through more of peoples' responses and gone back to the concept art and I agree to a degree. The art had the arms higher but then as a result seems like it'd make everything wider. We haven't seen the scale yet but it looks like the last thing a 90t mech needs is to need more turning space. Maybe that's just me

Look at how wide those arms are spaced.
You will start taking fire long before your cockpit clears any corner cover to such an extent that it gets utterly destroyed. What we have here is yet-another IS Assault that is basically stuck only playing as full-expose power position because trying to poke with it at all just makes you lose trades.

Yeah, good point. I'm weird and like the look of the sagging arms but I agree that shortening the upper arms would be a good idea. We'll see in a few days

Nightstar =/= droppy arms
Nightstar =/= XL deathtrap

I never expected the Nightstar to be a massive Gamechanger, because it's not like it adds some new Meta Weapon. But it does look nice except for the hands.

Not so much fitting the fan art as not being a laughingstock on the battlefield. If it is not feared in the least, something is terribly wrong.

I second this, the decision to slant the arms detracts so much from what looked to be a great mech. It's also caused the first time I've ever considered canceling a preorder, as well.
Insult to injury is the cockpit item miniature doesn't appear to have the fatigued arms:

I second that notion. I'm highly dissapointed with the Nightstar and for the first time consider a refund. This is NOT what was advertised by the artwork. I want the ingame model to look like the cockpit item.
