... Not sure how it will go, but it seems to encourage mixed builds and heavier individual energy weapon choices over boating light, single slot lasers;
Should medium and lighter lasers be king? On face value It seems this pass will encourage more tactical pokes. But the result remains to be seen.
I don't have a dog in the race, so the change will be interesting, at least, as the meta readapts.

If you just want a potent burst, by all means keep the cHLL. If you want to push, then take the cLPL.

Grasshopper nerfs
And yeah, UAC5s weren't hot enough, totally need to increase their heat None of the barely viable PPC/UAC5 IS heavies/assaults can be permitted I guess.
And laser cooldown nerfs.... okay I guess? That's kind of odd but okay...
This patch is just mediocre...
Can we have Paul back please?

Jeeez, let's think here....what season was in the past 5 months for the majority of the player base? Also I really hope you don't base this off steam -.-

Missiles get a bit weaker with more spread, which hurts particular LRMs and ATMs.
Lasers deliver less DPS, and at close range, enemies can't so easily rely just on alpha strike damage, since they are more easily pursued and have a harder time retreating to cover.

Seems an excessive change for them but my only thought is it is to make firing be less about the whole alpha than split large numbers of lasers to smaller groups.
Not sure I agree with large lasers having better cooldowns. Last thing the game needs is everyone sniping 1km away for a whole match.

Ha! No you don"t. Clans don't win at FP anymore than IS does. You only think your winning because actually good merc crews carry your worthless faction loyalists every single day. When balance shifts back to IS Clans wont even be able to get off there home worlds. lol remember phase 2? Still have nighmares about black knights that could solo 2 ebjs at once? Lol.

A discussion from back in March regarding the skills tree and its impact on the game. It was my view at the time that the new economy replacing the old three mech model would be one that included non-stop monthly changes to various mechs and weapons values that would force players to rebuild their mechs and reskill them in order to act as a cbill sink among other things.
Huh. Seems to me that is exactly what we are now experiencing. These up coming changes are no more about balance than last month's. These changes are nothing more that a mechanism to force us to do things like what I was just doing: spending some xp and sp points to modify a mech from one build to another, spending some cbills replacing weapons and (and a slightly smaller engine damn it) so as to not suffer the consequences of the latest nerf to what I had been having decent results in. So stay tuned for next months totally predictable and inevitable changes when other of your favorite mechs and weapons get hit, so you can continue to participate in PGI's new economy of constant change.
