It's be a nice fight to see. Would be nice to see if it'd further solidify ClanTechOP meme or if it's just a distinct lack of skill in IS players? Mind over matter scenario.

Oh yeah, I bet it's not the ClanTechOP meme, it's definitely the "IS players are bad" meme, that has far, far less evidence to support it than the former meme.
On another note, Papaspud, you gotta give it a rest, dude. You've been bitching in nearly every thread that's been made in the last couple of days. The balance as it is right now is not fine, but there is no "PGI hates the IS" conspiracy we have any proper evidence to believe, and behaving this way isn't helping, and is further poisoning the overall mood of the forums.
Relax. Go out and get some air.

Hey I'm drinking and I get on a roll. I have loved this game for 5+ years and it bothers me watching the lack of balance I am seeing, sorry if that offends you, I am just tired of trying to think things will be more balanced when I see it isn't happening.... sorry.

agreed, lets see the balance if 1 team was guaranteed 2nd place just to run IS tech. It would be very interesting, side note lupis- I don't hate you I'm just drunk...loolloololoolo

Even if a side only had an advantages so low it only changes a number on paper, they would still all play side. Comp players play giant robot fps, they dont care about battletech mechwarrior and all that. One mech has one slight advantages and its picked. They will always find something thats better, even if its 0.01% better dps, for them that 0.01% adds up to everyone else 0.01% and after a year it add up too.

I know this is just a drunk rant, but how did you manage to love the game back when balance was way worse than it is now if the current state of affairs triggers you this much?

So, If there is a "distinct lack of skill in IS players" and the clan players are just better players and I.S. tech is better wouldn't the better players gravitate towards the better gear?
Seriously can you possibly try to sell a bigger pile of horsesh*t than "clan players are better but I.S. tech is superior "
Clan players are better because clan tech is better. The best players will always use the best gear because part of being the best at playing the game is knowing what choices are superior and advantageous.

The real problem is either:
A lack of understanding of their own game both in terms of their own “data” and its interpretation as well as the manner in which the game is played at all levels. Or
It is PGI making sure that only a select few mechs are ever competitive to ensure that folks buy what they think will be competitive. (See qq-ing over the Nightstar. Most of the complaints are not that the thing would be pretty good, but that it won’t be a straight up rival to the MK-II; a mech that is arguably the best in the game).
What would IS v Clan in the WC show? It would be no different, in essence, than what we currently see: a few select variants with a few specific builds and nothing more. Well. What a shocker that would be. Yet another illustration of what we all already know: that PGI doesn’t understand balance or that they understand it well enough to make sure that only a select few mechs are remotely competitive and to keep it that way on a constantly changing basis so we keep buying the next best thing. Its one or the other.

when IS quirks went overboard after TUK2, or actually just before...
Who wants go back to that same level?
And if Clan tech is/was so superior, how was it possible that team with IS mechs won all matches?

PS: In the very past the month b4 ECM was introduced the game had the best Balance ever - every Role was possible, there was IS Tech only, Lurmers were dangerous at range but helpless in CQB etc.
Snipers, Brawlers, Skimrishers, Flankers all worked, ofc no Seismic Wallhack and no Poptarts yet.
You really could like that game back then...and it was 8 vs 8 afair also.

Unlikely to happen though. Probably have better **** to do, like practicing for the matches where they'll be playing for thousands of dollars.

Because BACK THEN, the quirks actually were OP (for three whole months). They are not even a shadow of that, now. As long as IS can't actually match the long range of the cERLL+TCs+15% skill nodes (and they can't even with the max 10% range quirk they have) and as long as the sustained damage output remains 20-30% lower, there is no point in having this discussion.

And, that is contrary to what MWO is suppose to be !
The whole selling point is that there is a struggle between the IS and CLAN empires, right?!
Now, why is the MWOWC only focused on a few guys completely avoiding the entire game's stated reason an e-Sport???
To many of us, what we see is MWO falling apart and becoming an "individual" event and soon, Solaris will replace factions and the entire platform will be nothing but 1x1 or 2x2 or 4x4 warfare and everyone else will leave..... JMO and it's so sad we're headed that way.
