Because the end of the event was at a time when IS had organized groups on that pushed the bar just barely past the clan win point in the last couple hours.
In other words, typical PGI lack of planning. Instead of the event being decided over the course of the event, it was decided by just a handful of units in a couple hours.

Could that be because there were only three Inner Sphere controlled planets during the entire event. One of which was Luthien, which I'm not even sure if its contestable?
And did no one get the lose reward? I have to assume that will be fixed soon.

Ah, was it the bar? I actually can't find the Win Condition anywhere on the event page...

looking at the map, luthien is surrounded by clan-territory. literally the needle in a haystack.
so I'm quite puzzled how this can be a tie in any way.
oh.. cause pgi says so. there we have it...
this is just too silly - monty python would abort this sketch.

It was like that since before the event. It was a tie because the map (Or the conflict bar) didn't move during the event period.

Why would they do this when Tukayyid works just fine and doesn't allow for such cheesing/griefing?

Most fun?....
Scouting is nothing but vomiting things on legs with a few selected mechs.
It's fast, that's all.

I bet they think "Clan/IS ended in a tie, so balance is good."

you can bring different builds.
That it has degraded to leg vomiting. Yes. All modes suffer that. But among them it's best/ most fun for me. When 8v8 comes back THAT will be the thing.
