So if I am doing all my cooldown timers right, all medium lasers have a cooldown of a large laser now? Anyone stil using?

Sad thing is, its still a 1 ton investment so most people have to keep using it. They don't have the choice.

TBMS, ERMLs now have longer cooldown than ERLLs. The syncing is even worse than pre-patch, for ERMLs.

Now lets see what PGI brings up on next month's patch.. only two more patches left til PGI leaves us again for the holidays.. wondering what sort of monkey wrench they are going to throw into FP mix...

Aww com on guys.. its fun to have medium lasers that need a longer wind up until they can be used again than Large lasers.. its totally balanced like that. Posted Image

I've converted my IS mechs using mediums as secondary weapons to ERSL (or no backup lasers at all) and using the freed up tonnage on bigger main weapons, ammo, heatsinks, or targeting computers etc. I'm still using ERML in heat-limited laser vomit builds.

Most people have not considered tag lasers as a viable alternative, but remember the DPS calculation has to factor in the sustained use at no heat. Posted Image

Dusted off my HBK-4P. The medium laser delay leaves you with 2-3 secs of clubbing people with your arms as you wait from lasers to refresh. For a 5 pt weapon that does about 1.5 on a ranged hit, cooldown is a bit much.

Tried brawling with med lasers/AC20. Felt quite lackluster now. Just did not have enough DPS to compete.

Meanwhile my LPL loadouts are still as OP ever.

I just dont get how anyone could possibly come to the conclusion that increasing cooldowns was the solution when the problem was high alphas. I mea, even a 12 year old could answer that question correctly.

Semi related question.

Is ghost heat on using clan Er small lasers with Medium Pulse lasers new, or has it always been around? I had a goofy MAD IIC laser build of large pulse x2, medium pulse x3, er small x4 and previously all 9 lasers could be fired without ghost heat. But now I'm getting the little warning symbol in the mech lab. It's the 4 small + 3 mediums tripping it, and none are heavy lasers.

so pgi gives us skills to lower cooldowns and heat....then call no joy and increase the base values........ whats the ******* point in that.......next they will lower the base armor value and give ams a cooldown..........i see it coming

They already did this with agility, ECM, and now Artemis.

Yes, it's strange to have longer cooldown on smaller lasers, but I tried my Raven 2X for a match as a test and it still works fine.
