Geez, let alone all this arguing about off-topic things... I would just like to know where the Patch Download Link that was supposed to be posted has run off to??? My ISP screws with downloads that are not done through the browser. Do I have to go track it down again and post it up myself for anyone needing to do it with their browser? Posted Image

Okay... 4.5 Hours since HotFix Patch Release, and the link's not up. I'm going hunting. This is NOT right, just leaving part of the player base sitting without the Download they need.

So, yeah... I'm a fast, angry, little nut... Pardon the Double-Post, but I think this needed its' own, just on merit of the information provided. I've found the Patch Download Files, and here's the details...

Version: 1.4.139
File Count and Size: 2 Files, 1.45 MB in Total Combined Size
Download Links:

-->> http://patcher.mwomercs.com/patch/Production/frontend/FrontendPatch_316.zip
-->> http://patcher.mwomercs.com/patch/Production/frontend/FrontendPatch_317.zip

...and I will leave you, the MWO Community, to enjoy loading up, patching, and getting rolling again. Please remember to follow PGI's instructions about not unzipping the data, as their StandAlone Patcher auto-handles that business. B)

To PGI's Staff, I still leave you a request to PLEASE UPDATE THE HOTFIX PATCH INFO PAGES with this information. Your community should never have to dig down so far through a thread just to get information and data that should have already been in the News Post in the first place.

This reminds me of the Bonehead call by Paul when he made the Clan ERLs so fked up for the first 2 days after a patch day back when the first series of clan mechs and all came out. They really need to pay attention to the actual play and not rely on data sheet crap.

So, let me get this straight:

The Clan Medium Pulse has:
Weight: 2 tons
Size: 1 slot
Range: 330 m
Damage: 7
Heat: 4.75
Duration: 0.9 s
Cooldown: 3 s
DPS: ~1.79
DPH: ~1.47

The IS Medium Laser was
Weight: 1 ton
Size: 1 slot
Range: 270 m
Damage: 5
Heat: 3.4
Duration: 0.9
Cooldown: 3 s
DPS: ~1.28
DPH ~1.47

...and you roll back the inadvertent 3.5 s nerf to the cMPL but keep the same nerf on the isML even though the isML was already flatly inferior, especially in context of cEndo, cFerro, cDHS, cXL, and increased number of hardpoints? And this is improving the balance?

Get the f*ck out.

Congratulatiuons PGI.
Once again you fixed something.
Oh wait. You also broke the game completely.
There are mass disconnects in almost every match today after patch.
Seriously, I have to say it, learn to code. Employ a few really good guys, kick some poor guys - who cares you know them for years, they are just crap since they can't find such a fatal flaw in small patch like this one.
And please finish the beta stage already and let's get to live version of the game (irony).

If compares, then should Clan Medium Pulse with IS Medium Pulse to compare.
Clan have no simple Medium Laser

Size: 1 slot
Range: 220 - 440 m
Damage: 6
Heat: 3.8
Duration: 0.6 s
Cooldown: 2,80 s
DPS: ~1.76
DPH ~1.12

Clan Medium Pulse Laser
Weight: 2 tons
Size: 1 slot
Range: 330 - 561m
Damage: 7
Heat: 4.75
Duration: 0.9 s
Cooldown: 3 s

AKA, the MedLas already didn't compare and now it compares even worse.

Then try the following at Omnie Clan Mechs:
Down - Upgrade Engine
Change the armor FF to Std or Std to FF
Change the Structure EE to Std or Std to EE
Remove jumpjets
Or other fixed components
etc

If one compares what, then one should also consider everything.

And, yes, there are some things you could do differently.
One of the steps to adjust the balance would be

for example the Range of ER Medium Laser
both IS and Clan same Range 720 or 800m
this would be only a small step, but a step in the right direction

After that one, would have to look into how far the higher damage through the more heat, Cooldown and durration is correctly displayed. At the same time, the armor and structure quirks must be adapted.

sorry, but Omnis are NEVER going to get the ability to swap engines. even IS ones when and if they show up. it's just part of how Omnimechs work. they trade the ability to do anything to the structure or engine of the machine without a complete rebuild of the entire mech from the ground up for the ability to swap OmniPods in and out and give the pilot a level of weapon and tactical customization of a single chassis that's impossible on a standard BattleMech. it's also why Omnis in general cost so damn much compared to BattleMechs.

one thing Clanners should at least be happy about. The fact that repair and rearm costs no longer exist. they used to back in the day for MWO, and Omnis cost about three to five times as much cash to fix as normal Mechs do. have to wonder how many of you guys would stick around the Clans if we still had to do that, given how strapped cash wise you'd get in a hurry.

In this match earlier in all 4 mechs of a cw drop...
...I had 10 kmd's 20 component destructions and more...and some how I did all that with less than 400 pts of damage...
Something isn't registering...
Is there going to be another hot fix to address the incorrect damage numbers?

any chance of undoing the absolutely stupid AC5/UAC5 changes? this patch was a pretty big "**** you" to the annihilator with that alongside the reduction to its armor quirks. i don't even own one but i imagine those who do must be pretty upset.

For the event, I'm having an issue:

I sold all my 'prime' variants of the mechs that have a special camo variant. Now, for the event rewards, f.e. the Nova Cat Prime damage doesn't count when you play a Nova Cat Prime (S). Is it supposed to happen like this? Am I screwed for 10million c-bills now or will this be adjusted?

I asked Matt about this. He said you can't complete the standard pack challenge with the special variant.

I have considered everything. Even with the locked equipment, the Clan Omnis still carry superior firepower and cooling at a given run speed to their IS counterparts and I am not wrong on that. The Omni limitations are also irrelevant with Clan BattleMechs running on the field.

Such a statement is one of the reasons why it will never come to a balance with which both sides can live

Sure it can. They just need to stop applying the exact same changes to both sides every time they perceive a problem. IS energy boats were underperforming compared to Clan ones. The solution should not involve nerfing the IS one, let alone involve un-nerfing the Clan one. It is backwards.
