Can we shorten the shoulders and remove the hand actuators from the mech?

Shorten the shoulders? Are you talking about the vents on the side torsos? If so, then yes please.
Remove the hand actuators? YES PLEASE.

Another thing I'd like is a more Marauder-esque movement animation, but that can wait until after the hand actuators are gone and the vents are slimmed down a little.
