Base armor quirks for all Night Star Mechs would be nice, like the 9j + some structure quirks.

The night star needs to have all structure quirks converted to armor quirks and the arms shortened, resize would be nice as well reduced 15%.

It needs to fit its cannon background. Heavy armor !!!! It has 18.5 tons of armor the atlas has 19 tons they should change the armor quirks to +20 l and r torso and +30 to center torso and add some weapons quirks range only +10 energy range +10 ballistic range. And a resize would help but not 20% i think 10% would be fine.

The hands, the big Marauder ***... you knew all of these from the preorder page.

It was obvious that the Nightstar was going to be pretty mediocre from the beginning.

You know, I'm reading "NSR is mediocre" a lot. In terms of all Assaults in the game, including Clans? Sure. In terms of IS Assaults? Not at all. Easily contesting with the established the top 3 (BNC, MAL, BLR). It ERLLs as well as IS can ERLL, it dakkas as well as IS can dakka, it spreads damage as well as a Stalker can, and it has the best or close to the best alpha the IS can possibly bring.

If they lower the arms back like it was before release, then they would need to adjust the guns to be level and not canted. I'd go with shortening the legs a bit. Overall, it's a good mech currently.

Today the number of people using the NIGHTSTAR has hugely diminished would see 3 to 5 per match now just 1 or two and this is still the first week not good normal launch would see heavy use for a good month, A good fix if they will not resize would be to add weapons quirks the 9s needs ballistic range and energy range - the 9fc needs ballistic cool down and energy heat gen - 9j energy heat gen and ballistic cool down -WP energy heat gen and missle cool down.

That's normal for an IS launch, because IS 'Mechs never do anything well enough to be special. Even the Assassin didn't catch on, because it launched with piddly quirks.

a Men in Plate Armor from the 15 Century is by PGi 5 % bigger as a Man in a Astronaut Suit or a Naked MenPosted Image all parts fictive...each Model from each artist has own different proportions and Geometry by same Mechmodel
we can give a Thunderbolt the Legs from Kitfox or the Arms from a Marauder ...all is only optical Look and free for scaling in each Direction
each Part and Weapons has own density and Geometry from his Manufactury
each PPC is different ,each Autocannon (many different Calibers by one Class )or seeing the Gauss cannon by a Hollander ...thats Big gun is in other Mechs very little in the Torso
Mechs have Magical Ammunition Transport Systems and most Parts with only Optical Character not functional Design
the Models optical not build for a Mechlab and different Configurations by Engines or Weapons...the Scaling System from PGI is Crap

I had high hopes for the Nightstar, I was disappointed for many of the reasons stated. In particular, structure quirks instead of armor quirks. Lame. Hand Actuators? Two useless critical slots. Whatever, maybe it'll grow on me eventually but right now it's just not fun to pilot.

Get one. I got mine after release and she is a beauty. Something new to the IS.

The nightstar is a great mech. But sometimes hampers to some limitations.

Their are only 2 things that needs to be done=
-Give all nightstars the same armor quirks as the J model and the least hardpoint models a small structure quirk
-Remove the hand aquators.
-Put the left Torso Hardpoint on the same height as the right torso hardpoint

I know it is lore, but the hand aquators ruin so many possible effective builds. For example a 6 Medium laser 2 Gauss rifles. Builds clan mechs can do at lower tonnage.

all Thats PGI logic ...in this is the Dragon a Dangerous Mech and a Unarmed Atlas a perfect VIP in little Maps like Crimson with only 2 ways and placing walls in a Dropzone with Many buildings like Crimson perfect for spawn (modified the Maps in 10 Minutes to clear the Dropzones for Gamemodes to difficult)...in MWO we have the best Minimap and animations from all games and mW5 will be great

Nightstars just seem bad. Their hardpoints are in line with the cockpit, but you basically have to expose your mech's entire upper body to utilize them. They're outclassed by the Madcat MKII in nearly every way.

It was frustrating spectating a Deathstrike and realizing his mech was both faster and more powerful than anything I could put in a Nightstar
