Yeah, I used to do telephone tech support and you would be surprised by how many people would call up screaming that their device was not working and then after I asked them if it was plugged in, they would say no.

Also, I had to repair a PC for a family friend who had a very dusty home and his PSU fan had seized up from all the dust and the PSU regulators burnt up, so I had to replace the PSU and stretch a piece of pantyhose over the fan opening to filter out the dust (yeah it works).

..but the dust would just go straight through the 'fish nets'..?

Not fish nets, actual hose like the ones business women wear. It is a poor-man's fan filter.

Yeah, maybe I should rephrase that as "Traditional business attire for cisgender women who choose not to wear a pants suit." Is that PC enough?

You need to generalize it further to persons that choose to present in traditionally female-identified business wear...

Gotta have endless fracture lines in society for identity politics to work. If there aren't enough be sure to create them.

I am almost old enough to no longer want to go along with the changes in society and just view the world through the familiar....get off my lawn kids! ..wait, I don't have a lawn :-(

Final conclusion

so... After a long discussion I have come to the conclusion that the best price-performance-size gpu for single slot sff computers like the dell inspiron 660s/i660s (click Here for the pdf of the owners manual) is going to be the gt 1030 original edition at $100 It was 65 when I bought it but gpu prices as of this post date are incredibly high!! the gt 1030 specs can be found here at geforce.com(look at the gddr5 version if your looking at the link I gave you)

The gt 1030 specs are:

Engine specs: 384 cuda cores running at 1265mhz (1.265ghz)
Memory specs: 2gb running at 3000mhz (3ghz)
general support: 7680x4320@60hz hdmi+dvi directx 12 and windows 7-10+linux
Power consumption: 30w with NO supplementary connectors

why Did I have to go with single slot and sff design?

well, I have the dell inspiron 660s... this makes it extremely limiting gpu-wise my old and original gpu was an old 400mhz amd gpu

It SUCKED!!!!! so I needed to find a graphics card that would sit into my computer... due to my case being to restricting I had to find a single slot sff gpu so not this(too wide):Posted Image
Or this(too tall):Posted ImageAs you can see... I was EXTREMELY limited... after about a year of looking I finally found in 2017 nvidia had just released the gt 1030... It was exactly what I was looking for. Fast, it had a fan, and It was the correct size:

The end...

If you're buying a 1030 you're pretty much just throwing good money after bad, OP.

If I were you I'd look into cutting out part of the case to fit a dual slot card if the cooling really wouldn't fit. Not exactly a perfect solution, but probably a better one than limiting yourself to single slot cards.

The issue with his SFF is the GPU slot is the very last slot, which would not allow him to use a 2slot SFF GPU. To do that he would need to move everything to a larger case then a new PSU. I am not aware though if the power connectors/wiring is different from off the shelf PSU.

if that case is the biggest limiting factor, and you've been staring at it for 12 months, why the hell didnt you think about changing it at all

brand new basic AF case, $50 AU
buying one second hand from your local landfill, probably < $10

hell, I would have disassembled it and reassembled it onto an empty pizza box, long before now ...

If I was you I would prob buy a cheap used ( i5 2500 / 2500k , i7 2600 / 2600k , i7 3770k or those crazy low priced Xeons with hyperthreading if you can find a mobo ) that can run the game quite well and I am sure you can find a 750 ti for 55$ (R9 280x or a GTX 960 if you menage to get other stuff cheaper than I did here) . Mobo 50-60$ , PSU 30$ , 2x4GB or 1x8GB DDR3 ~ 30$ , used 1 TB HDD ~15$ , case 20$ .

You can build a decent MWO machine for less than 250$ ... If you know what you are doing and buy used . I am running MWO on a 7 year old machine and I rarely drop below 60 FPS . ( 1080p Low/High mixed settings )
