I'm trying to set up a Maurader is-c and I'd like to know the performance difference of 2uac 10s vs 1uac20. going to the uac20 would free up around 10 tons for ammo; heat sinks; and medium pulses, but i'm not sure if this would be a dps gain or drop. I'm leaning towards no since the low arms on this are a ***** to hit with, but I'm open to suggestions.

this is what i'm running

UAC10s fire much faster than UAC20s, have more range, have more velocity, have less shells per tap (less spread damage and a slight boost to dps), they also have more ammo per ton.

2 UAC10s is vastly superior to a single UAC20 in every way, except that its heavier.

For your build I'd just drop down to an XL375, past 375 the gains in speed are very small and the weight to upgrade gets higher and higher, its not worth it at all.

I'd go with something like this: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...35b8a9c735adf37

If you really want the jump jets then just swap the medium pulse lasers out for ER medium lasers, and if the AMS matters so much to you then cut out a heatsink or two: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...964da4a8f3794b7

yeah, I've noticed the 2 uac 10's are fantastic. I had a 6 kill quick match in this. The engine dropping is a great idea, but the jump jets are staying. It's mainly for popping up ledges to flank things, and the whole point of this build is pushing mobility. The ams is okay, I threw it on because I kept getting lrmd to death, but it might not be necessary with all the maxed armor skills and radar deprivation.

Uac 20 has the issue that double tapping too quickly is punished by ghost heat too.

in all ways but tonnage and usually heat generation carrying more of a smaller weapon to add to the capacity of a larger one is better

4x UAC/5 (20 damage double firing every 1.66 seconds), are far better than 2x UAC/10 (20 damage double firing every 2.5) while both are better than 1x UAC/20 (20 damage double firing every 4 seconds) and the UAC/5 are each single rounds for IS, the UAC/10 fires 2 5 damage shells, and the 20 fires 3 6 damage shells so it isn't the sledgehammer hit of a normal AC/20

however you have to have the harpoints and the tonnage to pull it off so its more of a high end assault idea, the annihilator can carry 6x UAC/5s chainfiring to avoid ghost heat does stupid amounts of damage

for the MAD-IIC, if you have the A variant 3 UAC/5 is superior to 2 UAC/10 while using only 1 extra ton, and 1 extra slot, but doing only 5 heat rather than 7, but also having longer range and bullet speed
