One thing that really sticks out to me is the quality of sounds in the game. They are very basic to say the least. Its like watching a great movie with B quality sounds. Weapons dont sound impressive and foot steps sound like shovels hitting a concrete floor. I really hope the sound effects get better it would bring alot to the game.
Just a thought...

You arent the first to say so. And probably won't be the last. Maybe they will revisit sounds in the future, but probably pretty back-burner priority for the time being. But really, I am a fan of the "pew pew" lasers shown in video.. now if I could just get a chance to pew someone myself. DANG YOU O' MIGHTY RANDOMIZER PROGRAM OF BETA KEYS!

There's no such thing as too much "pew pew".

Pew Pew BASS Pew Pew Pew Swoooooooosh

Works for me....

But seriously, I'm something of an audiophile and the sounds haven't made me throw something at the screen yet. That implies to me that people have high expectations as to how their made up sound effects should sound :) Am I wrong?

/me goes back to check audio quality...

Nope. Still sounds significantly better than MW4. Are people expecting a Modern Warfare 2 sized audio budget...? 'Cos I don't think that's happening.

Agreed. (BF has always done audio better imo =P )

Yeah, I think graphics and gameplay are top priorities right now. Not to mention the budget has to be micro compared to the BF and COD series.

But I loved the sounds in MW3, wouldn't mind more of that.

Anyone know how hot a laser gets in canon?
Been trying to figure this out but haven't found it :)

I have actually imagined a laser sounding like a thunder clap with the air slamming back togther. but I don't know that the lasers actually get hot enough B)

I rather like love the way pulse lasers sound, both when firing and being fired by your face.

I have a hard time believing you are an audiophile if you think you need a million dollar budge for weapons effects.
Any Sound designer worth their salt can create, tweak and deliver an excellent finished product on a shoe string. I could contract out the sound design for weapons only for 10k easy.

From what i can tell some of the sounds relating to certain things seem quite good, others are seriously lacking.
Lasers sound good, really liking pulse lasers.
Missile sound good, as do the missile impacts.
ACs is one of the big disappointments for me, an AC20 should be loud! i mean really loud, and that boom should carry a fair distance.
(To be honest i'm just not digging how ACs seem to have been implemented, i really want more from them Visually.)
PPCs, well i can't really say much on these, havent seen a whole lot regarding their sound or look, what i have seen on the visuals looks decent enough.
Gauss Rifles seem to be very MW4-ish sound wise and while i love mercs i hate the sound of them in mercs, needs more BOOM imo.
Foot falls seem to be suitably deep and boomy enough, although there seems to be little difference between the footfalls of say a Jenner and an Atlas.

PS. Havent logged in, in a long while and just noticed my tag has been edited, Booo! ^_^
