For I.S only because it will take place pre clan invasion
and no melee/quads allowed because there's no sure sign that they are going to be in the game but if there is, all quads and melee will be added.

I agree to the extent that I think MW5:M would be a good reason to revisit that 3025 catalogue a bit.

You can always give priority to those 'mechs which can get interesting late variants in MWO.

If you pick a 3025 design you can use it in both MWO and MW5:M. Pick a 3060's design and only in the former.

I keep wondering how the legal trouble might affect the remaining unseen. It always struck me as weird how they suddently stopped releasing them after the "big four" heavies and the Phoenix Hawk, despite great sales (by all accounts), so I'm guessing it's an issue.

Some of the mech's on that list are extinct. The Firebee, Gladiator, and Von Rohr stand out the most.

Bro, a Mackie with an LFE and Clan tech would be OP as hell...

I think the Mechs of MWO cover the SW-era very well. Strangely you did not list the Mech I would miss the most from a lore point of view: the Hermes II. That one was kind of a FWL signature Mech.

In MWO, the Hermes II would probably look very cool but other than that it would be rather unremarkable. The HER-2M is serviceable, the other variants... well, they'd depend on PGI's goodwill in terms of hardpoint inflation and quirks.
So it's mostly about lore and looks.

But to be honest, MWO needs some Civil War-Mechs more than SW-era Mechs. Most of the so-called Civil War Mechs we got (and will) get are rather sideshow units in that conflict.

There's more than enough mechs already, time is a limited resource, let those modelers, animators and texture artists work on other vehicles, map assets, dropships etc.

Endless humanoid mechs bore me which rules out virtually all of the pre-Clan stuff (not counting some like the Lynx and Hoplite that were 'discontinued' or whatever), so I'd honestly rather they make something new that's lore friendly but not just another metal man. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Hunchback but all the IS mediums in particular are just cookie-cutter as hell. Call it a Periphery experiment or something...I'm probably gonna suggest the same to HBS, maybe they'll do it and return the favor for all the good mech art they've borrowed.

Eh. I think MW5 is going to be missing the same stuff the HBS Battletech crowd has been talking about.

Lights: From a lore perspective, the Wasp and Stinger are missing. From a gameplay perspective, they don't really matter that much. The Valkyrie and the Hermes would be useful to fill out some gaps the restrictive MechLab is likely to leave.

Mediums: What we have is all the trooper medium. What we don't have is most everything else. The Clint and Vulcan would we welcome additions, much like the Valkyrie and Hermes, but aren't as essential.

Heavies: This category is pretty well covered. There's no major 'lore holes' (No super common mechs that are missing from MWO), nor gameplay roles to be filled.

Assaults: Like heavies, pretty much all the bases have been covered. As much as I'd like a Mackie, it's not really essential - There's only, what, two confirmed running Mackies post 3rd Succession War?

It's not funny! we need these mechs and without them our selection of battlemechs remains too small
WE NEED MORE!
