I've been pushing for the Sunder for a long time. The time is right. We just got an "uber" (LOLOLOL) assault in the Nightstar (no really guys, IS Deathstrike all the way), and the Annihilator before that, need some cooldown before going to the Fafnir, and I think the Sunder is a great option considering it opens up the IS omni scene and is a mobile assault rather than a gunboat.

There are two things that are popular in a big segment of the MWO forum crowd, from what I've seen.

1. IS Omnimechs
2. The Sunder

That, along with how unlikely it is to ever actually show up, makes it an enticing choice.

Yeah. I actually wouldn't consider the following to be an unlikely series:

Sunder
Raptor
Blood Asp
Rifleman IIC
Fafnir

The OP is just... kind of a mess, to be honest. That, combined with the rules for the last contest, just makes everything confusing.

Maybe...

Actually, I was just going to rewrite the rules to make them more clear, and I'm twice as confused as I was before.

So... you say a person will win a prize for every part they get right... but how does that work? If a person gets the tonnage right but nothing else, does he still get entered for a prize? If he wins the dice roll, does he get 1 mech, while the person who got three entries right (Faction, Weight, Tonnage) gets nothing? Or is is a gated system, where if the best anyone did was faction, than whoever guess that is entered, but if people guess the faction AND weight class than only they get entered, and the people who just got faction right are disqualified...

I'm flabbergasted.

I'll admit, this was my 3rd attempt to make it easier to read. Evidently I failed Posted Image

Most correct answers out of 4 wins, with a tie dealt with as above.

If you get the name right, outside some rare circumstances (like the Battle Cobra), you will win 4 'mechs, as you will have chosen the correct faction, class and tonnage as well.

If only 3 parts are guessed correctly, then everyone with the correct faction, class & tonnage gets entered into the tie-breaker.

Same tie-breaker with only 2 parts being guessed correctly, which is somewhat likely, as you could get faction & class or class & tonnage with incorrect faction.

I highly doubt everyone will guess but no-one manages to get anything but the faction correct, but the possibility exists!

So it sort of goes...
Did anyone get 4/4? Y/N?
If Y, then we have a winner!
If N, then;

Did anyone get 3/4? Y/N?
If Y, then we have a winner!
If N, then;

Did anyone get 2/4? Y/N?
If Y, then we have a winner!
If N, then;

Did anyone get 1/4? Y/N?
If Y, then we have a winner!
If N, then; GAME OVER!

Assuming the next mech is announced at Mechcon, I'm thinking PGI will want to release a very iconic mech in the 3060 era, and preferably a heavy or assault.

I'm assuming an assault.

The Blood Asp is 90 tons, and we already have three Clan 90-tonners, two being introduced recently, so I would guess it's not going to be the Blood Asp. The other mech that sticks out to me as 3060-era, iconic, and not a pansy light or medium... is the Fafnir.

So, I guess that makes it

Inner Sphere
Assault
100-tons
Fafnir

Though, I'll put it on record unofficially, that I wouldn't be surprised to see the Sunder, so that PGI can wow everybody with the novelty of "first innersphere omnimech!". But I also think it's less likely than the Fafnir, because PGI will know that a large portion of the community is wary about IS omnimechs, especially mechs like the Sunder, Templar, and Avatar coming with hardlocked XL engines.

But if it isn't the Fafnir, and it isn't an IS omnimech, my third guess would be another PGI custom mech to follow the Roughneck. I can't imagine what weight class they would choose, though. If all of those are wrong, then maybe the Sagittaire.

Russ doesn't like them. I don't like them either. I have the death sentence in 12 systems.

It's a popular nostalgiamech from MW4, and PGI seems to have been going off a checklist for those things.

If they made the MW4 version of the Hellhound into its own separate mech then I wouldn't complain.

Why would the Blood Asp be unlikely when it's Pauls favorite mech? My second choice would have been the Fafnir since that mech has alot going for it (nostalgia and interesting builds utilizing all sorts of gauss rifles). Only downfall I see with it is ginormous hit boxes it has and possibly easy CT's with the bloated monster.

I don't picture PGI releasing any IS Omni's before 2018 so that's out of the question.

Edit: Oh whoops, I misread that. The way that was worded threw me off.
