***Congratulations Grus!***
Spoiler
Hello!
After the relative success of my last thread with 92 entrants, I wanted to try something a bit bigger
[Edit2] For clarity, you are voting for the next announced 'mech package, likely to be at the beginning of December or end of November. [/Edit2]
The Prize
Winner's choice of between 1 & 4 'mechs, depending on how many categories they guess correctly, with a total prize fund of $80.
There is a second limitation of the prize, aside from the $80 price cap, of no repeated weight classes. If you win a full 4 'mech prize, that means one Light, Medium, Heavy & Assault.
[Edit2] Additional prize! If more than one 'mech is announced in December (or the end of November), then there will be more than 1 winner! [/Edit2]
The Rules
- 1 guess per person (first guess counts, edit/delete your original post, re-post & PM me if you want to change it)
- 1 guess per post (if you list more than one 'mech, I may not count it)
- Follow the guess format (if you don't format your guess as per below, I may not count it)
- No alt accounts (hopefully people don't use multiple accounts to vote, but we can cross that bridge if needs be)
- In the event of a tie, I will tally the entries with the most correct answers and use a random number generator to choose the winner (I will screenshot the number generator, you'll have to trust that I don't try to fix it)
- Voting closes 30th November 2017 at 23:59 GMT *OR* whenever PGI announces it early.
Guess format
So in my last thread, I managed to get at least one person's vote wrong, so now there's a simple format to follow.
List the Faction (IS or Clan), the weight class (Light, Medium, Heavy or Assault), the tonnage (20 - 100 tons) and finally, the name of the 'mech (Eg: Hollander).
It should read as Faction, weight class, tonnage, 'mech name.
Acceptable separators include a comma (,) hyphen (-) greater-than sign (>) colon (: ) semi-colon (; ) space ( ) or a new line.
For example;
So long as your post contains a guess similar to that, you vote should be counted.
[Edit3] Your guess should be all for the same 'mech. You shouldn't guess "IS, Heavy, 20 tons, Rabid Coyote" as the Rabid Coyote is not an IS 'mech, a 20 ton 'mech, or a Heavy. [/Edit3]
As to how one wins? Well...
You win 1 'mech if you get the Faction correct (which we will be 100% certain to have, so long as we get 1 guess per faction
)
You win 1 'mech if you get the weight class correct (pretty likely, given there are only 4 to choose from)
1 more 'mech if you get the tonnage correct (now it gets a little harder)
1 more 'mech if you get the 'mech name correct (with a few exceptions, this means you just won 4 'mechs!)
Most correct answers out of 4 wins, with a tie dealt with as above.
You can use this excellent tool by Myke Pantera to assist you.
[Edit] Additional 'mech data;
IS 'mechs by class - 11 L, 17 M, 15 H, 13 A
