At last! 1st not 'flat' map in MWO. Cool, i've sugest it long time ago, sad it takes devs so long to make it real. That map is going to be my favorite because it's made for JJ, seismic and tactics :P

They have always released new maps one at a time going back to the closed beta, it was just more frequent back in the day.

Yeah, yeah, boo hoo. Fog and all that. However, it appears the sight lines, and accompanying engagement ranges, are so short that the fog might be of minimal concern. If the engagements are all practically sure to take place at 500 or less, regardless, due to intervening terrain, massive sight lines are unnecessary, and the fog adds some character to the place.

Certainly seems like a brawlcentric map, which is great. Multi-layered environment should give non-brawlers an option, as well. Jump jets, at least on medium mechs, could be life savers here, too. With this map, and the all city map they are working on, I am very much looking forward to a more brawlcentric set of places to fight.

I just really, really, really hope they will be added to the Scouting rotation.

I don't get the hate for fog... seems to be a legit thing to have to fight through... and too grimy? That's a very Davion thing to say... can't have mud on yer mech during, ypu know, WAR....

Besides, you'd expect a climate to be all messed up due to all the heavy industries and war.

All that waste has to go somewhere...

I was thinking the same thing. Memories of some old PC and Xbox games are flooding back to me.

Nice to have a new map. Looks like visibility will be on par with Tourmaline which is great. I hate low vis maps like the current Forest Colony. Could be an ok addition to the map cycle.

Looks like billowing gas clouds surround it and this is the only clear area - perhaps that is the oasis part

While I wouldn't mind a Pug/Scout mape based on Emerald Taiga (in the same way Grim Plexus game from Grim Portico) I really don't care as much about colors as much as the layout. This may be up there with Canyon Network and HPG Manifold with the multiple levels but it's still too early to tell.

Still, we are over due for a new map and I look forward to it.

Finally another map. It looks nice and atmospheric, kudos PGI Posted Image Still Im more hyped about the city map next year. It seems that theres one thing in common with both (city map autospells brawl for the most part) and that is close quarter combat and brawling.

I fear so. This is why we NEED random maps again! Whats the point in making new maps when some maps are given a cold/ hot shoulder due to meta/ weapon type bias?! So that we rarely to never can play them maps.
Its tedious to try to build up enough voting points to MAYBE tip the scale in favor of the chosen map.

I highly advis, make it random maps, at worst we can get the same map twice in a row. But that dosent beat the crazy lottery bias towards HPG, Canyon, Grimm and Mining.

All I think of is The Flood Hive mind level in Halo 3, dirty, run down, and broken everythings all over the place.

Edit: I do beleive that is a new logo as well, little smooth for my tastes, but it still looks nice. =]
