Not even that meta.
Take a look at 2 HLLs, 6 CERMLS on an 85 ton MAD IIC vs any laservomit you want on a BLR at 85 tons.

Honestly I'm concerned that a couple of teams going to IS was too late. I know we had gone from 18 a night to more like 8 before you guys had switched and I know a lot of the people I had dropped alongside were just gone. At least one team that I used to really enjoy playing with seems to have split up or just left.
People get used to being lazy. The teams that switched to IS have a real advantage in as much as they took the initiative and they knew they were going to have to adjust and try harder. Everyone else has to try and just adjust their bad habits on the fly.
Keep at it, people will get used to actually having to try again. It takes about 14 days for people to adjust to a change in their routine and about 21 days to make new habits. I just hope you all stay there long enough for everyone to adjust to having to try again.
Got nothing but props for you and the boys in KCom. Our fights always have the nastiest brawls.
A lot of IS teams drop en masse early in the morning to cap planets without fighting larger teams, and a lot of IS teams drop in small groups then complain that they can't win.
It's a fact that the clan have clear advantages in terms of firepower and maneuverability that really shine in faction play. 48KPH quirked-and-armored assault waves will still get flanked in-and-out by swarms of laser boats or splat-backers, making their extra tonnage useless. REGARDLESS, even if these advantages/disadvantages explain why pugs win or lose, it in no way affects the results of more coordinated units.
Until more IS units step up to the plate and actually fight the clan head on, we won't ever know if there are real balance issues. Only a tiny percent of IS units are active during prime-time.
Anyways, cheers to you guys and the dozens of other units that we've gone up against. I don't think we've ever had anybody on either side cite tech advantages or disadvantages as the cause of their wins or losses.

so youve only lost once as clan, but you still only win 70-75% of your matches? i find this hard to believe, especially since ive seen the strategy you guys were using last night, and find it hard to believe your losing even 25% of the time, its a good strat tbh. makes full use of all the advantages that mischief pointed out above.
methinks you are stretching the truth a tad to reiterate your point that things are "balanced"
He didn't say we only lost once, as a unit we lost about 25%. Individually, some of our better players/drop callers, such as Xavier and myself, lose less than that regardless of which side we play.
When we lose it usually has less to do with tech and more to do with organization and coordination, both on our side and against us. We've added almost 60 players in the past 2 months, including new people who dropped in trials until they could buy some mechs. It's hard to require our standard decks when someone only owns 3 mechs, and they aren't great mechs. If we run into a good team with organized decks and decent calling we still usually win. It's the units that are as organized as we are (or more so these days) like KCOM, EVIL, BCMC, some of the 228.....among others....that really give us a good fight consistently.
They drop in synergistic decks, have good tactics, and individually their pilots shoot well and even more importantly POSITION themselves well, and we love fighting them because it shows us where we need to improve.
At the top levels of comp play, clan is clearly superior. But that doesn't mean the regular players can't use IS tech well. It's just very map and tactic specific.

To be clear, I wasn'tsaying clan and IS are equal. They CLEARLY aren't, clan tech is better.

Shut your heretic mouth; the best IS mech is the Orion. I can't believe you mispelled it as "crab."
MAD 5D vs your Onion. Will find you today and teach you to that the MAD 5D was a Davion design while the Orion is famous for having been the preferred mech of Aleksandr "I Can Run Away Further Than You" Kerensky.
You're riding a cowards ride. I love me some Orion, don't get me wrong, but the MAD 5D is the full size version.
