It does make one wonder how well it would have sold if IS XL engine would actually survive the loss of one side torso. Again, IS components are HEAVIER and generally bulkier, nor are most able to take advantage of both Endo/Ferro due to 14 slots for EACH. Then most of the weaponry are shorter range and damage is lighter...and quirks, especially structural quirks gets changed in a heartbeat when the dartboard is hit JUST right...and that is often

This needs armor, not structure. With STs as big as that, it is in dire need of some sort of compensating factor, and structure is not going to help it.

The chassis has more easily isolated components, yet doesn't get survivability quirks because it has ECM and forced high hardpoints. But ECM requires a hefty skill point investment to make use of, and those high hardpoints were forced due to lack of hardpoints in an age where acceptable and efficient mechs have a clear cut template of available hardpoints. So now you have a chassis that does not match the concept art with which you try and convince pre-order purchases, but without those jarring modifications few would spare more than a glance at the chassis.
So the Thanatos as a chassis has two builds that it can do that already available inner sphere 75-ton battlemechs can't really do, but it gets the sort of quirks you would expect on a chassis that is capable of actually loading itself with respectable firepower and not some janky fringe stuff that is still considerably inferior to other options.
Just... what in the absolute bumblegunk is going on? These sort of utterly stupid releases just hurt future sales more than anything.

Im gunna have fun with this mech either way, its obviously not a traditional heavy, with ECM & JJ's, so I can deal with a little less armour, etc. Its still 75tons gg o7

Found it on YouTube. Nice. Now fix the Nova Cat like this and give the Victor the kneecaps back!

No it won't.
Can't fire PPC + Gauss without incurring a hefty ghost heat penalty and stagger-firing negates the chief advantage of such a build. Simple twin-Gauss with JJs will likely be where it's at, or using HPPC with AC/10.
