As someone pointed out above, I think it was more of a netcode issue.

It was probably scrapped to reduce the amount of unnecessary info being transmitted between the server and clients. I think things like IK and knockdown were removed to help clean up the net traffic and reduce the amount of lag, rubber banding, warping, etc... the game was experiencing in the early days.


yeah IIRC it was hitreg issues in the netcode... IK would add so much more positional computation that combined with the netcode and HSR made hit reg a total mess.

i do miss knockdowns tho.. back when real com pilots had white knuckles weaving thru buildings on frozen city at 160kph.. boy those days were fun.. you knew who the real pilots were back then real fast, cause they could stay real fast..

When they got rid of knockdown, daily driver light pilots sprung up like weeds with the skills of them too. Left us old jocks yearning for the day they'd bring it back so we can laugh at them as they trip over every thing out there..
