Pretty satisfied with the Novacat Prime that I think I plan to use it as a workhorse to finally replace my tired old Hellbringer. I was considering plucking $15 for the hero, but is it worth it? What's your opinions about it? I only have the standard Novacat Prime but I was also wondering about getting the collectible version.
Or save the money for the Thanatos?

I like it, *though i'm partial to all NovaCats* It's got missile and laser so.....mix SRM/pulse builds?

I was thinking of large pulse+heavy laser build, something that I can grind credits and XP with, one that makes those better than a regular edition.

I'm kinda meh on it, but haven't spent a whole lot of time trying to iron out builds for it. Tbh I don't think it offers a whole lot more options that you can do outside of the standard Nct-B. You'd probably find more enjoyment out of the ballistic options found in the reinforcement pack. Cool paint job tho.

Meh on the hero. I feel like if the arms were 2M1B instead of 2M1E, it would have been a more interesting mech to play with. Or alternatively having B ST instead of E. In either case, it can't do much the other variants cannot do better. It just adds a little more energy to the B configuration at the expense of missiles.

Having missiles in easy to shoot off arms is questionable advantage. Convergence is bad too.
And without missile arms its just like the rest novacats.

You already have 3m arms from one of the variants, do you want 2 extra e hardpoints for your missile build?
You can do that i guess

I like the hero mech I run ATMs with MPL on it. I prefer it run my atms on that instead of the B cause I get more energy hard points for tag+ backup weapons.

I've got the hero, i run 2LPL in the side torsos (different omnipod I think) but I use 2xMPL and 4xSRM6 in the hero arms which I really like. Obviously it runs a bit hot but you have nice high mount lasers for poking and then a pretty brutal punch at close range.
I have different setups on each of the Nova Cats (2xLPL+5xMPL, 4xERLL, 2xLPL+6xSRM6) so I don't have to have 'the best' on the hero.
Definitely should be on the 'buy' list.
