[mod]Due to unconstructive bias in topic
and less constructive tangents in discussion,
this thread has been moved to Kaetetôã.[/mod]
I'm glad you're here to guide us. Some of us get confused as to what is constructive and relevant. I thought the disconnects and crashes to desktop I've been experiencing lately - where before I wasn't, were relevant to the discussion.
But you have shown me the light, thank you, next time I crash to desktop for the 5th time in a night, instead of cussing, I'll imagine myself in K-town where it's of no significance to my gaming enjoyment.
Don't take it personal.....this is what happens to any post that PGI finds "uncomfortable". And before you say anything, I have no idea how they decide what "uncomfortable" is.

They're worse than Gaijin or War Gaming. At least with those two, it's because you brought up the Russian Bias™
Thank you for this video. This was so much Battletech and showed the sadly unused (battletech) potential of this game. TTK & weapon usage (missing of alpha, take cover, alpha... rinse and repeat). As a quickplay pug, I envy you...

Oh my god I never sent that big post before crashing firefox...
Gonna just bang my head now.
There's more videos. For example his side of that video.
There's also Atlas versus Dire Wolf (3 videos on that), Hellbringer versus custom Hellbringer. Ice Ferret versus Vindicator (stocks). Timber Wolf C versus Thunderbolt. Hellbringer and Timber Wolf versus Two Summoner Primes.
So I can share them on request.
If anyone is also interested, I am working on the following two topics:
1) What if MWO's faction play had meaningful missions, persistent play and actually gave us what PGI said they would, as described to us.
2) What if we had a Battletech Simulator using the Lumberyard engine with all of Star Citizen's tools, what would it be like?
Currently the first one has more priority as it is much quicker to do. As such I need one or more Megamek partners to help me realize this.
Need the following:
Mek HQ latest Stable and Developer versions installed (preferably to separate folders).
Hosting ability is helpful. There are days when my IP just won't let me host because it switches their ID of my computer and I have to set it up through them since "users have been causing problems for themselves by setting their own open ports."
Ability to receive and share files. Specifically:
Spoiler
A text file that assigns base design quirks from lore to all mechs, specific to the variants that suffer them whenever applicable.
A MekHQ ruleset for the most advanced experience possible.
A Megamek ruleset for the most advanced simultaneous turn experience possible.
Phone app: BT Dice. To handle rolls and other aspects that cannot be covered in Megamek, such as "Intelligence."
Custom units, which consist of but are not limited to the following:
Civilian "crowds" of various sizes which can traverse through daily life, flee into buildings and run from them as they collapse and P.O.W.s.
Civilian vehicles of various sizes which will (generally, not perfectly) follow traffic routes until spotting danger and panicking, which will then try to flee in ways that often end up with spectacular crashes.
Emergency services such as police, ambulances and firefighters. (Despite my best attempts, these must be manually played; there's only 128k that each AI can use and its tasks and priorities cannot be set dynamically and pre-setting them crashes the AI. There's also the time issue of setting up an AI for each EMS unit).
Expansion on already existing field R&R units, including Technicians in the field, vehicles and other aspects that can provide resupply, minor field repairs, produce defenses, Ambush-oriented anti-mech infantry teams, etc.
Place-able objects such as objectives, custom-made turrets, etc.
Custom weapon variant files (when possible; this is currently in development and until then any of that is being handled manually through math and will be delivered in post-production narration.)
The Campaign mission, parameters, etc. in a Megamek HQ file to load and run. This file may need to be passed back and forth before and after each session in order to expand on mission data.
Custom-made HD maps (which I welcome help with from those with the know how.)
If interested in helping, please let me know. The main guy I was working with had a car crash; he's alright but he is getting back on track financially to get a new car and that means he'll be unavailable for an indeterminate amount of time.
LocationIn the mechbay, telling the techs to put extra LRM ammo on.

Remember last years MW5 reveal? How many saw that coming?
I sorta did..
3 months prior I posted a topic about them using MWO assets to make MWO2 - I was off about the multiplayer component, but that's basically what they did..
And the release trailer for MW5 showcased features I've been suggesting on the Suggestions forums for years..
To this topic being transferred: Oh, sorry PGI, must have hit a nerve..
This topic being transferred from general forums is sort of an answer to my OP in itself..
Sorry for airing out your dirty laundry PGI.. but I'm not sorry.
Get you'r shait together..
P.S.
BTW, I posted a link to this topic to the general forums.. apparently, that's a violation of the COC, even though I saw it done dozens of times on other topics.. but ok..
Got a suspension warning..
Guess they really don't like us talking about the important questions..
