That's only based on votes from the competition in my signature, AFAIK no-one has confirmed (or denied) the Fafnir.
I hope it's soon, I need faith in IS 'mechs after the Nightstar.

Right now IS has 13 assaults. True they could use a new one or two to bring that number up (3rd lowest on IS side with lights at 11 mechs) I feel there are much better candidates.....
... or maybe I just hate the f'ing thing.

...not a fafnir. Or god quirk it with like they did to the annihilator(which, mind you, got nerf later on).
In before people act all "surprised" that the hitboxes are going to be bad, then proceed to blame PGI for matching the artwork.

Well the ppl called for the MadCat MkII and it came.
I expected it wiould be as unplayable as it was in MW4Mercs....but its one of the go to Clan assaults at the moment.
Becaused PGI desided to not stick to its design as Mech with wide Arms and huge shoulders.
Instead it became a 90t Mech with the frontal area of a 50t Uziel.
So chances are with that voluminous boxy torso and leggs, the Fafnir could be pretty tiny regarding its frontal area... not bigger than a Thanatos or even smaler.
Remember Volume tonnage ratio and stuff.
Edit: that is if they reframe from effin it up like the poor Nightstar that got the oposite treatment.

In terms of the hitboxes, PGI could technically save it very easily by giving it absolutely gigantic armor quirks like they did for the Annihilator. However, that depends on how much faith you want to put in our Balancing Overlord™...

,,, Yeah, that totally wouldn't have the same problem as the Awesome : P
Between the Annihilator, Night Star and King Crab, I don't see the Fafnir being a game changer.
If you want to see it as a fan of the mech, I'm all for it but don't think it's going to be the best 100 ton machine in game (unless you take allot of liberties)

I would rather see the thunder hawk get added (as well as the naga and catapult-c3)
along with a hardwired ARROWIV system
that would be the best 100 tonner IMO
we could have actual artillery mechs then and get rid of the broken consumable strikes

the voice of reason is wasted in any MW4 hyped Mech-Topic.
There were dozens of better Heavys or Mediums for Uziel, Hellspawn and Thanatos and still we got those
