The condition is victory, not win.

Am I interpreting this incorrectly when I say that this looks like winning either the match or the entire competition is required to earn the C-Bill prizes?
I think just winning matches or it would cause an S-storm

That is correct. The nerve of PGI trying to get people to put a measily $6 into the game to buy few mechbays... I mean they never even put mechbays on sale!
...oh wait:
https://mwomercs.com...ack-friday-ever ok
Sorry couldn't resist...
Just so we're clear, you feel that new players should get all the stuff they need and get it easily so that they don't need to be tempted to contribute financially to the game? And for those of us that have contributed to the game for years (many have been contributing more and for longer than I have), "eh give them some cbills they may or may not need"?
That is what I'm getting from you, please clarify if necessary.
If I cared about the rewards, truly as much as some, I would rather they gave us the ability to pick our own rewards and perhaps have them stack based on how much we accomplished. So sure maybe you get some fluff, but you get to pick something. All some of us would like is a unique trinket that may not do a dang thing, but would never be offered again, just so we could have some different.
That would, if implemented correctly, satisfy your request and keep long timers/tryhards/non-newcomers content as well...
...well, except for those that are never content...
Actually, now that you don't need three variants of a Mech to master it, those initial Mech Bays can hold a full CW drop-deck and if that deck includes a decent light or Medium, that Mech can also be used in a scouting drop-deck. So, unless you want to collect tons of Mechs, you never actually need any more Mech Bays than you start out with.
.... I think I might actually make a 4-Mech-Bay only account.

I'm looking at this seeing capture thresshold is exactly like a regular night of Faction Warfare...which indicates to me PGI has learned nothing from Luthien...
Why the hell are there two Faction Warfare game modes that are exactly the same? Why not have EVERYONE participate in the event by default?
That and I think it's pretty obnoxious to have a Quickplay Event going on when there's a major Faction Warfare event going on. It forces people to make a choice-when the population is at the point when we can't afford to split them apart any further.
PGI, when are you going to listen to the people who actually play Faction Warfare?

I'm really tempted to just drop this...
Wait...I just realized...it's Thanksgiving weekend...
Why in God's name would you host an event NOW, PGI!? No one is going to be playing!

There's going to be lots of players playing this weekend, simply because it's a weekend. If you can't play this weekend due to your own real life commitments, just too bad? I've met players ingame today who still haven't finished the Rubellite challenge.

those rewards are indeed weird, the only way that there are Steiner Loyalist without the Steiner Colors or their most iconic Mech in their roster is because they only just started the game, which is possible but kinda unlikely.
come to think of it, its the same with the rewards for the Green Chickens. i mean are there members of that Clan without the night gyr, the first mech produced by that clan that was aviable in MWO and who do not have according colors reflecting their faction?
gotta say, the loyalty rewards are a bit too obvious and also disappointing, but what are the alternatives? just shoving up like 10-15 millions of C-Bills directly up the shiny Mechs backside is not that much of a reward either.
Edit: general spelling mistakes, hope i got most of them.
@Bishop Six: "Grüezi" ist was für Zürcher, da wo ich herkomme sagt man "Grüessech" oder einfach "Hoi" ^^

.....
This is setup so the Clans can not win by a simple lead. If they are to win they need to dominate.. almost sounds like a full CSV KCom team vs solo pugs.. hai?
What they have changed is how to earn the "mech" reward. As doing the event during Quickplay event AND on Thanksgiving weekend, they may have thought it would be a benefit to the largest segment of their playerbase, Canadian thinking...

An American is a someone who lives in the united states. The largest unified nation in the new world. Everyone else in the new world is referred to as Canadian or Mexican or what have you. Not saying its right. Just saying thats just the way the world is. And I will say that as much as 70% of the games population is american so you can expect 1 of our few major holidays to seriously impact wait times.

They can't please everyone everytime, besides maybe, just maybe, us 'muricans should consider that we just aren't as relevant as we want to think we are. A lil humility could go a long way...

Since ever the time for patching is at 7 PM in our region, every damn time! Most of our unit are grown-up workers, so we can only play in the evening. And exactly at this time PGI always make their Patches...

Okay so I get their patching schedule, as unfortunate as it is... They patch at about 9-10AM local time so that they have all techs and devs around all day to address things if they go south.
As much as it would be great if they patched at a time where the least player population is affected, you don't want it to happen when they don't have all their peeps around to handle any problems that arise.
So yeah sucks for European players, but ya have to admit, from a support standpoint, it makes sense.
Beside, World of Warcraft had almost the exact same patching/server maintenance schedule for a long time (maybe still) so if it works for Blizz...

i absolutely agree this sucks but try to see the positive: gives you a bit of free time to do your E-Banking and whatever else you have in mind. i for example just go walk our dog during that time and she allways looks at me like "why do you wanna go that early, is MWO patching again?"
as you said, optimism is better than frustration

Jep, surprisingly i figured that out on myself...
You are right, that makes sense and i just wanted to point out that not only the Americans have to deal with certain unlucky timings, so we are all sitting in the same boat.

Yes, i just spam the MWO-Forum during this time^^
Its not really a problem, but when you buy a mechpack and really looking forward to play it, then it is hard to wait to the next evening. Especially during the day you cant play but read in the forums how bad the new mech is, how bad PGI is, how bad the new map is...you know what i mean.
But hey, better patching to unlucky times than leaving the game in Alpha-Status like some other games (*cough*DayZ*cough*).
P.S. Grüezi passt schon, da mein Schwager Zürcher ist
