Well I have seen a thread or two about possible upcoming mechs so I took sometime and put together a list of IS and clan mechs that are 3069 or before 3069 that are not currently in game (in some form or another). I did include some Solaris Mechs, as they did have some interesting looking designs, just not mechs that were prototype one off mechs. (Except for 2 special mechs) Also no Quads as we know the current engine and skeleton system will not handle it.
The numbers represent variants and the number after the plus are those with custom builds and or notable pilots for possible heros. I did forget to remove underwater builds.

The entire Celestial series are 3069, they're also IS omnis with plenty of configs that are not 3070.

Whoops I skipped that one, but got most of the rest.

Not my fault their game engine can't handle it.

Eh, we (the forums) have been through this before, but suffice it to say that theoretically, the game engine shouldn't be a barrier to quad inclusion. If it's inverse kinematics that worries you, then remember that tanks and trucks don't have to have inverse kinematics. Quad mechs are really just 4-wheeled trucks that have leg animations instead of wheels.

The real reason for excluding quads is because the developer(s) think they're silly.

Which is silly in itself, when there's a customer base willing to shell out money for one that are beyond the usual suspects on these forums.

Have those that took part in the discussion do any 3d modeling? For each model made you need to rig it to a skeleton, and that skeleton is connected to a set of animation files. As I don't have the software for .pak files on hand I can't tell if the game uses only 1 or 2 skeleton types, but due to the animation issues we have scene with a few mechs I am willing to bet they use one and use a few tricks to get it to animate the chicken leg mechs. A quad would need a new skeleton and another set of animation control files to properly animate it. Saying the quad legged mechs are similar to 4- wheeled trucks or a tank is more of a disservice to their very design.

Debatable. =P

If Russ was really interested in quads, I'm sure the first thing he'd do is ask the whales on twitter how many would shell out. Without any kind of poll at all, I have my doubts that there are enough people interested to justify PGI's extra time cost of figuring out implementation in the first place. There's a lot of other factors at play, not just the matter of getting them to function in the engine. But that's for another thread. I won't derail this any further.

This list appears to be incomplete, it is missing mechs of the 10/15 tons category aswell as any and all super heavys.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - we need Comstar as a playable faction, and then we could get the Celestials in as part of subfactions therein.
