80: Zeus,Awesome,Victor.
85:Battlemaster,Stalker.
90:Mauler,Highlander,Cyclops.
95:Banshee,NightStar.
100:Atlas,KingCrab,Annihilator.
Despite the funny look and original purpose to be a training battlemech, the Crockett is a formidable unit that has gun to window length arm hard points and comes with jump jets. (JJ's are pointless so it will just be taken off) Knowing how I.S will get armor/structure buffs and maybe some range/heat buffs too, this mech's 1b variant will possibly boat x6 ERLL and just be a better Lasermaster due to the fact the arms are noodles that are very close to the cockpit in terms of "highmount" and this mech is really XL friendly because the side torsos are skinny compared to the big giant hit box that's called a center torso. I have faith that Alex Iglesias will turn this funny looking mech into a highly detailed monster that will just have clanners scream for nerfs. (ERLL stalker nerf)
The main Crockett isn't that deadly but the 1b is.

Fills the slot, IS Omni, and dives into new tech (X-Pulse Lasers). Three things for the price of one. Sure it requires a time jump, but that comes at zero effort.

There are a lot of Templar variants without X-Pulses (literally all of them excluding the Alternate D) so PGI would likely skip over them. Sort of like how PGI skipped over the Zeus variant that had a Binary Laser Cannon stock.

I'd rather have Omnis in a big mechpack of 4 or 8 rather than singular.

It would be much worse than the Battlemaser or even the Stalker, Battlemaster can strip the arms entirely for free weight and then has all the weapons in the torso hardpoints that are not only at cockpit height, but also right beside it. You don't want to have super long arms on poke mechs, it ends up making side poking harder, makes working around teammates harder, and means your arms are likely ineffective at spreading damage. The torso on the mech seems to be similar in shape to a Jagermech's but a bit broader at the top, depending on how the hitboxes are setup it could either have huge, small, or average size STs, but in general would just have torso hitboxes as bad as a Battlemaster but without the shield arms. Also the top speed is low.
0/10 would not buy mechpack.

Yep, Gunslinger or Templar look like great options.
For a 3rd, I like the look of the Tai-Sho, though it suffers from having a C3 in both variants. Still, UAC10 + 2 ERPPCs or UAC10 + 2 HPPCs are good enough stock builds.

Its about time they do something about IS Xl survivability and start selling IS omnis already. It will open some opportunities for good highly sellable mechpacks.
