Would this game mode be a suitable replacement for Escort?
Mode: VIP
At the start of the match, the slowest mech for each team is selected as their VIP. VIP is shown to allies both on map, in player roster, and on hud when in battle. VIP is only identified to enemies if that specific enemy has him actively targeted.
A destination zone is selected for each team on the opposite side of the map. This zone is visible on the map to allies, and does not appear on sensors to enemies. The destination zone CAN be seen visually.
A team wins if their VIP reaches the escape zone first, or all enemies are eliminated.
If your VIP reaches the escape zone safely, each teammate gets an extra 20,000 credits.
Killing a VIP is worth 60,000 credits in addition to the mission reward.
This mode is restricted to only a few, large maps.
