If I go loyalist for this event coming up, and I'm currently merc, Do I have to wait the 10 matches before any of my scores count for the event?
My merc contract runs out tonight and I want to know if I'm going to be wasting time with matches before being able to actually do the event.

Those 10 matches are probationary so that you can not VOTE on which planets to attack and generate loyalty points. Since the event is setup around scores other than actual loyalty points, then you would not be excluded.

Probation Period

Attaining full Loyalty status is not simply a matter of swearing the oath. After pledging allegiance to a Faction as a prospective Loyalist, players must complete a Probation Period of 10 matches before they are eligible to receive the rewards and permissions commensurate with full Loyalist status.

During the 10 match Probation Period, prospective Loyalists are not eligible for receiving Mission Payouts; likewise they will only acquire C-Bills and XP from the standard Match Rewards; they do not acquire Loyalty Points.
Additionally, they are not able to cast a War Planning vote.

Never.

That 10 match probation period, when you get a loyalist contract, and it only involves the ordinary loyalist stuff, such as getting the flat bonus for victories of FP matches. And the ability to vote for planet to attack. And getting loyalty points for faction reputation, the 10 matches is required for those 3 things.

Events always treat any kind of loyal as loyal. So you can be in probation period, or deserter. Doesn't matter as for events there is only one kind of loyal.

Wait, do you need to be a loyalist with Steiner or the Jade Falcon and only those two to participate in the event?

If you are a loyalist for another house/clan, results will not be counted?

There are 3 CW Events going on right now.

One is accessible for everyone, that's the Battle for Tharkad faction play event.

Then there's two separate events that basicly tell you the requirements
The House Steiner loyalist challenge
The Jade Falcon loyalist challenge

You can acquire a mech and a bunch of c-bills in the main event that is accessible for everyone.
The loyalist challenges give you cosmetics (cockpit items, decals, color and a camo spec for a specific mech).
