Im a new R68 driver and I actually went into a firing line backwards ! My team finally asked "WTF are you doing..... backwards????"

Yep, makes escape a lot easier and it was fun ! Of course, I've decades driving real tanks so backwards to me is an easy event and a useful skill....

I do my best to snuggle with the firing line and comtribute and I like the little trashcan.... Unfortunately, I'm clan and since we can't have partitioned accounts, the little bugger is just sitting there gathering dust,.......

You still want to frontload the armor. What direction are your guns pointing, after all? The 360 torso twist is just a nice gimmick, and you can get around it by shooting the butt plate.

I front load to survive alphas(or try to) from most mechs when face tanking, but as I take shots while retreating I 360 to spread damage all over which can make the Urban seem to take way more damage than a light should.

But if you want to kill Urbans fast then just focus the legs or butt, they'll go down just as fast as any light.

I put a little extra in the back but not because of the twist. I do it because the mech has base armor quirks but only structure through the skill tree.

IMO you should always put all your armor in the front except 1 point

if a light gets behind you, you did something wrong, or youre so outnumbered at that point you werent going to survive anyway

also if all your armor is in the front you dont have to do stupid crap like 360ing to distribute damage. you just have to keep your front facing the enemy with the added bonus you can also shoot back at them. And try to torso twist your arms to face them between shots.

and you should mostly be moving perpendicular to enemies not walking backwards straight at them while 360ing... wtf?
