You must be one of the people that it upsets me so much to spectate... Trackballs?! The trackball players I've spectated are so horribly inaccurate, they constantly overshoot their targets when attempting to track. Once had one character try to claim he was a sharpshooter, when the aim I witnessed while spectating begged to differ.

2014 Naga was my first actual gaming mouse and served me well until the thumb buttons starting getting stuck in (most notably 1, 2, 3 and 4). Was nice having 12 thumb buttons since at the time it made MMOs with 1-0 ability bars much simpler with just a button press.
Haven't played those kinds of games in years though so i switched out to a R.A.T. 7 because i've heard nothing but good things about it, was a bit awkward at first.. but eventually got used to it.
I loved the R.A.T. 7 so much i got myself the PRO X and gave the 7 to a buddy, the only thing i need to do now is sensor swap when newer, better sensors come out.

That's the mouse I use. Sometimes I do wish there was an extra button but I do fine with the two main buttons and the two smaller buttons for weapon groups 3 and 4. Scroll wheel button is for zoom. I tried using a regular mouse before but much rather use the trackball.

And I see horribly inaccurate players using regular mice too. Moral of the story? One's own individual skill is what matters. If the player has no skill, it doesn't matter he uses. A trackball mouse can work just fine here if the player is comfortable with it and has some skill. Those players you spectate probably don't have much skill to begin with and wouldn't be any better with a regular mouse. Personal preference is definitely a major factor here as well. I just prefer to use trackball vs conventional mouse

Same here, inly I went with the Naga 2 Hex. Hex because it's got 7 thumb buttons.

But seriously the thumb buttons are in a circle. Makes it easy to map things like arty strikes and cool shots onto the tbumb without losing weapon groups 3 and 4.

Skill, and I would add ping, are much more related to aim in my experience. I don't have the best stats, but I generally hold my own, have what I consider decent stats, and carry occasionally. Having used trackballs for about 20 years, I think I have a good bit of control woth them. I have heard they help prevent repetitive motion injuries, which as someone who is on a computer a lot at work is a plus. I am disappointed that my inquiry about mouse preferences was met with an immediate attack on my competence, thanks for jumping in ocular tb!

But i ended up buying the Rosewill Neaon M59 for 20 bucks. It is really nice. Has a DPI switch with 5 levels, and has 2 very easy to use thumb buttons on the left side. It's also kinda heavy, so it adds some feel to the slide. Over all it seems like i'm going to really like it. Only issue i have is it won't wake my computer up. Not sure if cause i keep my wireless plugged in but turned off, or if it is something with the mouse. Not a big deal if my comp goes to sleep i just gotta turn on and click on the other mouse of just turn off my screen saver when i'm gaming.
at anyrate, for 20 bucks, this mouse seems like a very good deal. (normally i think it was 40 bucks) But in the future for someone looking, it is a really nice gaming mouse for the price. I just hope it lasts a while
