I can make over 250 match score, had 3 matches against an 6man+ 228 in the oceanic TZ, on conquest...a loss, but still made match score with a crappy 1k damage just because I used only 2 mechs. Every other match was a skittle team, except one against a 8 man KCom and friends. Got 249 in that match, so close.
So, if you know how to play the game, it's not hard to even finish off the event. I did it in 2 days - I'm on holiday now, so i can't play well on my crappy laptop. You have 14 days to do it, even 2-3 matches a day isn't THAT hard.
I'll say problem exists between PC and chair, go improve and learn FW, there's more than enough guides out there. If an solo player like me can get it done with only 3 owned mechs, you can too.

Crap my contract expire in 1 day...Would take me 20 scout match and it will be over, i'm doing usually over 500 damage with my quad ssrm6 hunchie in scouting.

And there is the "rub" for some newer (or permabad) players. They can't get damage in without going through most (or all) of their mechs. I was in a defense drop where we got in an argument with a Solo who refused to push out between waves. He stated "he needed to use less mechs to get his match score". Which while bad strategy for the match, we at least appreciated he was willing to admit that he was playing selfish and we let it go. Problem was we got a ton of damage in between waves (I went over 3400 that match...rare for me...and we had a couple more +2k). There wasn't much left for the guy who stayed in...he scored sub-400 dmg and was the only player on our side that did not get his 250...despite preserving his mechs. Point is many newer FW players in this event don't know how to be effiecent in getting damage in while not just throwing mechs away....that said, I am glad they made it 250...just to give the event have a small (but manageable) degree of challenge to less experienced players

You need to do more damage, and more consistent damage to get 250 match score. You were the one that was telling me in game today your hellbringer build works really good when I (very nicely) offered a suggestion on how to improve it. Should be able to get 250 match score no problem, but then you did tell me that you were happy only doing 1400 damage/match. Don't come complaining when people were very nicely giving you pointers on how to play better and achieve these goals (and that doesn't mean you're bad, just that almost everyone can improve on something, including myself)
You're seriously trying to bring that up? When I absolutely destroyed you on damage, kill s and components that game?
*EDIT* I was mistaken, Vxheous actually beat me by a lot in that game. Oh well.
And that 1400 I was describing was QUICK PLAY or BY ITSELF. And I don't even run my hellbringer in faction play. I'm routinely top 1-3 in damage, so please don't patronize me. And if you are "unhappy" with a 1400 damage showing in a hellbringer, you're insane.
Get over yourself dude. My 4 ERLL hellbringer build sacrifices 10% heat for the utility of ECM, which is helpful for providing missile cover and hiding your positions. I like it. Damage has almost nothing to do with match score in this, it's all about weird **** like components nuked. I've been focusing components and have been doing much better now, even 1200 damage, quick games that go 48-12 can net you 400 score if you're lucky and peel off legs and shoulders.
You were the one who got offended when I told you that an objectively different build was objectively different. And people agreed with me. I did not say that mine was better, I said it was different and that I enjoyed it. And yet you kept beating your own dead horse for the rest of the game. Grow up. You weren't "nice" you were condescending and rude, and other people called you on it.
That said, this event should have been either 200 or a total pool of match score.

You shouldn't lie and make up stories, because they will get found out:
I don't know how that constitutes as "absolutely destroyed you on damage" other than you got it backwards. I was actually also very nice about explaining why the Hellbringer F left torso was better than the Prime ECM one, but you said you had this conversation with others and you would never be convinced about it. I think explained that the F left torso allows you to alpha all 4 ERLL for 44 damage out to 880m for ~40% of your heatbar, and your response is "I like to chain fire my lasers so that wouldn't benefit me" I went on to explain that because you're poking at such long range (800-1000m) having the ECM doesn't make as much difference as compared to the -10% heat gen gained with F torso. Then came the accusations that I'm a jerk for explaining very simple game mechanics.
Please look at the screenshot one more time, and don't make up lies about me next time. (This is not name and shame, Honeybadgers specifically spoke falsely about me, and I have covered up everyone else's names)

Meanwhile, this event was flawed, even worse than Luthien, and still screwed out the population over 'tying' crap.
PGI hasn't learned, and won't ever learn.
You want them to learn? Stop buying the product.

I've never been dinged for name and shame when I use a screenshot to correct a lie about me, because it's not name and shame. This has happened before. This is like the "opening the door" law doctrine, since he first brought up damage and such first. If he did not make up the story to begin with, then there would be no screenshot. Notice in my very first post to him that I never said he did bad, or was doing bad, just that I offered suggestions on how to be even better.

Holy hell if 1400dmg is considered good dmg by pugs, no words on this.

It's all relative, I suppose. Check out the other damage totals in that match...
Yikes.
But then, I was in a match two nights ago where a two-man unit did 250 damage each. That's in total, across all four of their Mechs. And that was a winning Siege Defense match. IIRC correctly they brought almost all LRM Medium Mechs.

well only way thats a good damage is in a 8+man group of equally skilled players (wasnt the case on the screenshot) as for solo drops is utterly bad, heck i feel bad if i do less than 3k in solo drops
NOTE that i mention "by pugs"

That takes me up to 56% of my heat bar (HBR-A with F omni in the LT, P omni in the RT, A omni in the Head, and all Heat Gen and Operations Skill Nodes activated). Where am I going wrong...?
EDIT: 49% on a cold map. Close enough.

I think I get ~46% or something, maybe I stripped more armor and have more heatsinks, i don't know. Im pretty sure I get around 44-46% in a cold map, because I can alpha twice, then switch to stagger of 2 + 2. Anytime my heat is below 50%, Im safe to alpha again without overheating. Not at my computer atm, but the fact stands. Even if you just 2+2 the whole time, your overall damage output before heatcap using F torso increases quite a bit.

Thanks for that. I tried it out on a 'middle heat' map in FP last night and I agree, the reduction in heat is definitely worth trading off the ECM.
So: thanks for the tip. I wasn't previously aware of the opportunity to reduce heat with that omnipod.

Glad to have been of help. So I finally had a chance to go get definitive numbers, and you're right, 48-49% per alpha. Can get 2 alphas + coolshot + 1 more alpha before having to go 2+2. Of course, you can just 2+2 from the start and do it for a long long time before hitting heat cap, but is more exposure time to get returned fire from battlemasters and grasshoppers and such.

Oh my god you're the coolest smartest internet person ever.
I was wrong. I thought that was a game I did much better in. You beat me. Being mistaken does not mean I lied. I simply don't care. I'll go back and edit my post that you actually beat me in that game by quite a lot.
That game was also a bad example of "you being better than me" because I accidentally dropped in an LMG mist lynx as my first mech. Not exactly a big damage dealer. I did maybe 150 damage in it and then had to deal the next thousand in a scorch, at which point the game ended. Notice how you and I both only lost one mech and had the same number of kills. I'm hardly some scrub.
And yes. I still disagree that your hellbringer build is objectively better. You're like BlackhawkSC, one of those people that thinks this game is about spreadsheets and min/maxing. It isn't. This isn't WoW. A player in a mech he prefers will always beat a player in a mech he doesn't like the playstyle of. You bring more damage, I bring more utility. I can wipe NARC and supply ECM cover, counter the ECM of any lights running around our assault line, and have less chance of being detected for 2 or 3 volleys than you. you can fire more often. Can you -technically- do 10% more damage than me in a match? Yes. Does a hellbringer with 4 ERLL actually fire nonstop? no. It's an opportunistic sniper. Your argument is not only nitpicky as hell, but blindly irrelevant and doesn't actually play out like a spreadsheet says it should.
And you still never addressed that I said I was talking about quick play numbers. You were wrong and yet you jumped on that horse and rode it straight to the center of the earth.
You do realize that it also means nothing, right? I specifically said that I prefer it, not that it was better. I also said you're welcome to play the one you like. But you kept going. You're patronizing, rude, and disgustingly self righteous. No semantic yammering you want to do will change that. Also, it's kind of pathetic that you save screenshots just to try to win arguments that you might have. I sure hope you don't talk to people like that in the real world. Because your behavior online is the epitome of the poisonous little internet snake.
Next time you want to bark your opinions as if they were objective truths at someone, no matter how right you may be, remember what someone else said in that game. It doesn't matter how right you may be, if you're an ******* about it, nobody will listen.

I'm sure your rebuttal will be super clever and totally crush me on the internet. But this is the last effort I'm going to put into discussing with you ever again. You're not worth any more of my time. Fight well.

Yeah, I'm absolutely some scrub that has no idea how to play a hellbringer. Just look how bad the 4 ERLL ECM variant is! I'm such a scrub! I TOTALLY MUST SWITCH TO THE F TORSO IF I EVER WANT TO BE SUCCESSFUL WITH IT.
