In an effort to inject a bit more posititvity into these forums I would like to thank all the Drop Callers I have played with over the years.

Drop Calling is hard. I have tried and I basically suck at it. My situational awareness is barely adequate for myself, let alone herding 11 other players whilst trying to figure out what the bad guys are doing.

So if you are dropping in FP either as a new player or with some experience and you happen to come across one of these rare people who actually like calling drops. Give them the respect they deserve.

Not all will be tactical genii but any plan is better than no plan. Listening and doing your best to follow will have far more impact on your ability to win, or even just avoid a stomp than almost any other piece of advice I can give you.

Lots of people give the advice of "join a unit". What this really means is find a DC and agree to follow his orders. You don't necessarily need to be in a unit to do that.

Some tips on working with a DC.
-Don't argue. Most people willing to DC will know a lot more than you do about the game.
-Go where your told. Being in the right place and pushing at the right time are key skills.
-Shoot the called target. Not always possible but do your best.
-Don't worry about being the first to die in a push. Somebody has to do it.
-If you are on TS or VOIP and can talk, repeat an order, this encourages the DC that people are listening and encourages others to follow those orders or be left out.
-Get on the DC's friends list. Most groups consistently need players. Before long invites will be coming to you (if you do the right things).

Lastly if you or the DC are leaving the group. Thank them in chat or Voip. Your performance was likely better because of their efforts, it's the least you can do.

I'm more thankful for the random players that actually listen to calls.

This. I got to drop-call a few pug games during this event (I usually only play with my unit's drop-callers), and quite a few times had pugs who were willing to follow. Really made those games more fun, playing with a team that was really getting in there with you, and we won almost all of those.

Just to add a tip.

- Don't have whole conversations when someone is drop calling.

PS: me and other drop callers will thank you for it. ;)

But yeah getting thanked for the drop calls is quite rewarding. :)

All we need people to do is trust us and listen, then execute. :P You're welcome.
