I think we could use another Clan Heavy mech. We don't have a 60 ton non-omni.

Out of these choices, which would you like to see?

Glass Spider

Predator

Thresher

Hellfire

Matador

I like the Glass Spider but it looks almost exactly like a Rifleman IIC. I think the Hellfire would be badass and would be great for laser vomit. The Matador's loadout really intrigues me though, and it's ugly and blocky and I'm always interested to see the kind of beautification process Alex will give 'mechs that looked ugly as sin in the TRO art. I think I'm gonna have to go for the Matador.

Probably the Predator. That is only if the cockpit was raised from the center torso as well. The problem with the clan 60 ton bracket there are not many viable options for PGI to pick from, so they would be forced to make up a few of their own variants which will most likely not be inspiring or unique in any way.

Given the fact that the Rifleman IIC outclasses the Glass Spider in almost every other way, there really isn't much point to the mech other than to fill the 60 tonnage gap.

The Matador would have been my second pick. Still, I think all of the clan mechs in the 60 ton category will be subjected to PGI variant syndrome which is something I'm not overly enthused to see in the game. Call me a hypocrite since I still want the Toyama. Posted Image

If anything I think that PGI's own custom mech should've been a Clan 60-tonner instead of IS 65-tonner. One of those groups has a lot of options, the other does not...

We do, in fact, have a 60 ton omni mech. Just not a very good one

Missed the "non" there, wahoo. Sorry.

The OP said non-Omni.

Anyways I'm leaning towards the Hellfire, as the Glass Spider would have a role confliction with the Rifleman IIC (which may or may not eventually be in the game) and the Matador's insane stock hardpoints (4B + 2M + 7E = 13 total lol) would probably cause PGI to nerf its agility super hard.

I would go with the Glass Spider naturally but since I believe firmly any mech that is descended from the original cannot be release until the original drops first so I'll wait til the Galahad comes out first then the GSpider. For my secondary pick the Thresher, Masc heavy and the hardpoints on it not bad at all.

The Hellfire is by far the best of the bunch.

Your Glass Spider link is broken by the way.

Out of those only hellfire looks interesting, mainly because 7e and 3m hardpoints on non omni platform.

Vote for your favourite heavy mechs here.

My choice would be the Thresher

Easily the Hellfire. Linebacker front profile, MASC, BattleMech, shoulder, cannon, plenty of hardpoints.

Glass Spider as a second choice, though the basic variant needs some hardpoint inflation.

Thresher. All high mounts, it's a battlemech, has MASC as an option, as well as jump jets. It is just an overall interesting mech, in addition to having solid hardpoints and placements. It would be a good battlemech, me thinks.

they can always just make some mechs up too

The Dragon IIC already exists.

It's a medium mech though...

yeah but a dragon IIC would be 60 tons not 45

and a battlemech not an omnimech

the whole point was to add a 60 ton clan battlemech

I think theyre just gonna have to make one up

Not really, IIC mechs change the original tonnage in many cases.

Locust IIC: +5 tons
"Dragon IIC" Great Wyrm: -15 tons
Griffin IIC: -15 tons
Shadow Hawk IIC: -10 tons
Rifleman IIC: +5 tons
Thunderbolt IIC: +5 tons
Warhammer IIC: +10 tons
Marauder IIC: +10 tons
Phoenix Hawk IIC: +35 tons (lol)

Why would you want a battlemech instead of an omni? I mean, omni's are better right? Posted Image
