WOW, these look great! Why were they taken out?

"Old terrible interface."

It wasn't that bad, it just didn't stretch so it only displayed in 1280 by 720.

Hmmm well the ability to rotate the mech 360 degrees is probably better.

I just don't see myself or expect very many people to appreciate being able to view their mechs in a mechbay.

How about this instead: when in lobby, that 90 second countdown, everyone's walking around in the dropship. There's a chat window and you can view everyone's mechs (4 in the dropship anyway) while waiting for the countdown.

The camera moved around to show different angles instead, including from the rear if you click on a rear torso to adjust armor. So while you couldn't spend your mech in place, you could zip and zoom around it.

yeah theres no point to it

if the mechbays were actually in-game and you had to pick your mech then run out of the hanger and fight that would be different

Wonder if they'll now charge MC for each viewable mech bay.

I think that would be the only way PGI would even look at investing dev time into a hangar
Well aside from a hangar of the month style of revenue I guess :D

And pokemech collectors will take one full day (24 hours) or more just to walk through all their mechs. But hey, we have the biggest base of operations.

Why not go Star Citizen route and sell a buggy to drive around in your hangar

Judging by the doors underneath the 'mechs that look like a lift system I would gather that this is either the interior of a dropship or a 'mechbay that is designed to lower the 'mech out of the mechbay to the ground below. Otherwise, how are the 'mechs supposed to leave with that center scaffolding that you pointed out?

the polygon article said that was a leopard.

That hanger isn't the only thing. In fact the entire game is overly complicated, IMHO the need to be so exacting in nearly every act from getting into a ship and starting it, to shopping in stores, to navigating around a station... too many intermediate steps.

I've always found it hilarious why mechs dropping from leopards don't take leg damage, but a fall from a height less than that drop from the leopard, you do take leg damage.

looks like no one at PGI has ever been in a real hanger

look at all that junk

they need to get rid of that center scaffolding system it just clutters up the image

hope the criticism does not sound to harsh/salty

It's inside a Leopard drop ship, they walked through the doors, the artist completely missed the need for a turn table, or that if they lack one, that they would have to be reversed through the bay.
